Solar Trust for America (AKA Solynda pt II)

Solar company bankrupt despite 'win-win' DOE loan

In keeping with the recent trend of so-called green companies going into the red, another solar energy company supported by President Obama's top administration officials declared bankruptcy today.

Solar Trust for America received $2.1 billion in conditional loan guarantees from the Department of Energy -- "the largest amount ever offered to a solar project," according to Energy Secretary Steven Chu -- for a project near Blythe, Calif., but declared bankruptcy within a year. It is unclear how much of the guarantee, if any, was actually awarded.
I wonder what the excuses will be this time.

Scandal? The government dispatched more firepower to arrest Nakoula Basseley Nakoula in Los Angeles than it did to protect its mission in Benghazi.

Excuses? Who needs excuses? This is a huge success! Don't tell the emperor he doesn't have any clothes on.

I wonder how much the Obama campaign got out of THIS one.

Every penny of all those loans (Hussaine's redistribution of taxpayer wealth) that Hussaine gives out should easily be accounted for. They make it appear as if it was a John Corzine, Hussaine's top financial advisor, kind of hedge fund when millions of dollars simply disappears into unknown bank accounts apparently.

Remember the reasons why Solyndra failed were because China was subsidizing their solar industry? What do you call a $500M "loan" that's never paid back, mutherfuckers????!!!!???? Sounds like a subsidy...

If you're not "hysterical", would you please lend me $500M? I promise to deliver solar panels someday...maybe...

How much did you contribute to my campaign, and how much will you contribute the next go around? Those are the only things that matter, after all.

Well, if you give me a government loan guarantee of $500M, I could probably donate about $250M. Deal?

Sounds good. I'll have the speech writers whip up the standard "<fill in the blanks> company represents the bright new future of the way forward" speech and get right on it. Thanks for doing business the democrat way. Got any ideas how I can scare the voters into not voting Republican? I would rather my record never come up in the campaign, and I need some real fake crap I can throw to scare the idiots.

No, no...fear is what Republicans use. You should use "hope". You know, tell people that you "hope" the Republicans won't starve little kids and old people if they win the election. Oh, wait...sorry...that was fear again...hmmmm...

Can I use "change" if no one notices I used to be against raising the debt limit, changed my mind and now I'm for it, used to be against piling up new federal debt, changed my mind and now I'm for it, used to be against a personal mandate to purchase insurance, changed my mind and now I'm for it, you know, that sort of thing?

Now there's a response loaded with substance. Good effort, Optimus, at least for you.

But Drones believe these subsidies are good. The results don't matter, it's their intentions that must be judged and after all, they know what's best for all of us.
