NBC's altered version makes it sound like Zimmerman said:

But here is the full, unedited conversation that took place in the 911 call:

Who is the more racially motivated here? Zimmerman or NBC?

I still think that Zimmerman was a damned fool for carrying a gun on a Neighborhood Watch tour. But the more facts that come out about what actually happened, the more this looks like a deliberate attempt by various news outlets, to smear Zimmerman as a racist murderer when in fact he was nothing of the kind.

How do these NBC people sleep at night after pulling something like this?

I brought this up in another thread. I think NBC should be held accountable for such a deliberate tactic. All they see is the money they'll make from the controversy they'll help create.

Sadly the Daily Show is one of the most accurate news shows out there.

Well they fired one guy, isn't that accountable enough for you?

Works for me. The MSM sucks man and they pull this crap all the time. When I first read the story I made the mistake of listening to the MSM and then when I looked a little deeper of course the truth was far different.

Here's another instance of falsified reporting from Fox.
And I don't think anyone got fired over it.

If you want to read about a time Fox did fire some reporters, google "monsanto cow milk fox"

They all suck. I'm surprised there isn't a black hole forming with Bill O'Reilley cresting the event horizon.

Sorry, I just don't believe that the one guy was the only one responsible. It takes a lot of people to put on a TV production.

Of course it does, but it is plausible that only one guy handled the audio recording. As I said earlier, I can't picture the editors being aware of this - it was certain to explode into a scandal, with the entire country paying attention to this case - and NBC actually doesn't have a track record of these sorts of falsifications, AFAIK. The fact they even fired the guy suggests they take this sort of thing as a more serious problem than Fox News apparently does, since they don't fire folks for routine hijinks of this sort. All of this tends towards the conclusion that management didn't know.

One guy's the boss though. That guy should be held accountable, and from my layman's understanding of news reporting, that would be the editor. If he's the boss and he tell Joe the Audio Tech to air it, it's not Joe's fault. It's the boss's.

Scandal? The government dispatched more firepower to arrest Nakoula Basseley Nakoula in Los Angeles than it did to protect its mission in Benghazi.

I'd agree with management needing to be held responsible in most cases, but here, it isn't really reasonable to expect an editor to have to compare audio samples being published with the original, word for word. It should go without saying that the audio engineer's job is not to editorialize such things, and I can forgive an editor for not necessarily catching it when one suddenly decides to do so.

I agree. That one guy was probably a sacrifice to cover the illegal actions of the corporate sleeze lords in charge of the left-wing shitrag that is that station.

When did this air? I watch MSNBC and from the first time I heard about the story, I heard the unedited recording. I never heard anything but the unedited recording or a reading of the transcript. Never once.
