    Trayvon Martin's ten day suspension

A twitter message, allegedly sent by Trayvon's older brother, suggests Trayvon was suspended for assaulting a bus driver.

Trayvon Martin was on a suspension from school when he was tragically shot last February 26th. His school, Dr. Micheal M. Krop Senoir High School, has not given any details. His family has also evaded the issue. According to the Kansas City Star, the length of the suspension was ten days. This suggests a very serious offense.

If Trayvon Martin was suspended for a violent act, it would alter the public's perception of the events surrounding his death.

Trayvon's older brother, Stephen Martin, appears to have sent Trayvon a twitter message five days before the shooting that may explain the ten day suspension. The website WAGIST.com has scrutinized the twitter messages sent by Trayvon's older brother and his friends.

WAGIST.com says that Stephen Martin tweeted a message to Trayvon on February 21st that read "yu ain't tell me yu swung on a bus driver." Based on screen captures provided by WAGIST.com, the message appears to be authentic. It was sent five days before the shooting, and raises a lot of speculation. Was Trayvon Martin suspended for ten days for assaulting a bus driver?

Stephen has also posted a newer picture of Trayvon both on twitter and on Facebook. It shows an older, more muscular Trayvon than what we have seen in the media. It also shows a large tattoo on Trayvon's left arm.

Update: The Florida Sun-Sentinel reported today, March 26th, that Trayvon's ten day suspension was related to marijuana. This, and a cryptic comment by his father that was quoted in the above Kansas City Star article, suggest he was caught smoking marijuana on school property.

I don't think Trayvon was a model student. He probably did have some issues with parents being divorced, etc. etc. A 10-day suspension for tardiness isn't believable so I'd have to say there's more to the story on the suspension. However, it doesn't change the fact that vigilante, over zealous Zimmerman followed him, confronted him in some way, at some point pulled a gun and now this kid is dead. This kid who had skittles and iced tea on him... not a gun and not drugs. This all stinks to high hell that Zimmerman was not looked at closer by police and he is not being held for manslaughter. Trayvon did nothing, other than "look suspicious" that night.

Trayvon had career aspirations to be an engineer or airplane mechanic... that is not a gang banger. If he'd been a gang banger, Zimmerman would be dead, not Trayvon.

note: jwreck, I'm not in any way saying you are suggesting Trayvon was a gang banger, but I've read it elsewhere.

Again, not that excuses any event of that night. I DO think it demonstrates that this story has been completely slanted and one person's background was whitewashed while the other was picked through with a microscope.

Not sure what that was, but the article also said the suspension was for pot, and it went on and on about people posting pictures of reefer in his blog. Guessing it was pot. I got suspended for fighting a bunch of times, never more than 3 days. The one time I got busted with pot it was much more severe. 10 days is probably a "zero tolerance" thing with pot. Of course, that's just a guess. Like most everything else until more details come out.

That's true. I already feel like quite the sucker for my own initial reaction. That being said, there isn't a lot that Zimmerman could say that wouldn't still leave him as a gigantic asshole who's aggressive stupidity cost a kid his life. And, my own take is and has been that it deserves investigation, not that Zimmerman should be lynced without a trial. Still think that, even if someone is coaching the family on how to polish the issue for public consumption.

Assaulting a bus driver is not that much different than hijacking a plane. Many people were in danger by that terrorist teen's actions. The terrorist sympathizers who support that terrorist need to be put on a list so the NYPD can keep an eye on dem!

I don't usually grab a gun and go chasing down gangsta thugs and then try to scrap with them. He notified the cops. What's wrong with the guy? Why does this wife beater need to take a gun and go hassle kids?

Further, what was he doing with a gun when he has felonies on his rap sheet?

Come to think of it, just who's the gangsta thug here?

Where is the evidence he chased anybody down? Following people on a public street isn't a crime, it isn't illegal, and neither is asking them a question.

Where is the evidence he's a' wife beater'? Do you beleive every woman who files nuisance claims is telling the truth? Do you know anything about how it's easy to get a restraining order, with zero evidence of violence, just asking for one gets one?

Further, what was he doing with a gun when he has felonies on his rap sheet?
What felonies? He doesn't have a felony on his record. His gun was perfectly legal for him to carry.

Can you cite all those other times he shot somebody? Surely a frothing racist vigilante maniac has dozens of them, right?

Come to think of it, just who's the gangsta thug

perhaps you can provide some evidence that George Zimmerman is a felon.

What felonies? He doesn't have a felony on his record. His gun was perfectly legal for him to carry.
He had 3 charges of domestic violence against two women and battery on a police officer while resisting arrest. The assault on a cop was definitely brought as a felony. I thought I saw another one on there, too. I don't recall the disposition of the case though. Did he plea out?

Either way, the guy isn't a hero. He's a fuckup. Why shouldn't this go to a grand jury? Why oppose that?

Give him a little time; he's busy calculating rope knots and trying to guess how many will beat Al Sharpton's knots. It's all about winning.

Three accusations of domestic violence, not 'charges', and shoving a police officer is not exactly serial killing territory; he wouldn't have been able to plea that one down if it was anything other than minor stuff.

I thought I saw another one on there, too.
Did you see a puddy tat, too?

I don't recall the disposition of the case though. Did he plea out?
Yes, it's obvious you don't know squat. We already see that.

Nobody said he was hero; exaggerate much? Prosecutors refer cases to grand juries, and only if there is evidence of a crime. There isn't any, just some sniveling racists and their lynch mobs hoping to railroad some guy for being the 'wrong color', that's all.

Why oppose going forward on a direct complaint, if the evidence is there? You do realize that the grand jury is a virtual rubber stamp?

3 charges of domestic violence by two different women, at least two of which earned him a permanent injuction.

So we've got a guy with 4 charges of violence, including violence against women and violence against a law enforcement officer, who habitually calls 911 on young black men because he finds them suspicious, who skulks around the neighborhood with a gun looking for suspicious young black men, who follows one, stops, gets out and confronts him. Something happens and he shoots the kid, then pins him down and holds him face down in the dirt and doesn't call or call for an ambulance, and you're assume that there's no reason for a grand jury? Further, you assume that the only reason anyone says there is, is because they're racist?

And you don't find that even a little bit insane?
