Hundreds of Israelis march in Tel Aviv to protest war with Iran

This is really a nice story.

    http://www.haaretz.com/news/national...-iran-1.420510

Last week, graphic designers Ronny Edry and his wife, Michal Tamir, unknowingly began a Facebook phenomenon when they uploaded a poster depicting Edry and his daughter with the words, "Iranians, we will never bomb your country, we [heart] you."

That one image sparked a movement of sorts, with hundreds, if not thousands, of images sent from Israel, Iran, and elsewhere in the world, in support of exposing what participants consider to be the human side of the conflict between Iran and Israel.
“My Israeli friends, I do not hate you; I do not want war. love, Peace,” read many Iranian posters that were posted by Iranians to the new group page. Most of the Iranians, who posted messages to the Facebook group, did so with their faces partially veiled, possibly out of fear from the Iranian authorities.

I was just watching scenes from Gran Torino last night. Same concepts. The zionists can become special and good human beings if they give up the insane bullshit they were brought up believing and actively make amends for their racism and stealth, international imperialism. It is really like the Saul becoming Paul concept in the New Testament. Saul was an evil individual from the tribe of Judah who persecuted early Christians. Saul saw the light and became an advocate for Christians. That is what makes Brother Nathanael a true American. He gave up all the benefits of being a member of that cult and now preaches the truth.

Denada. The good news is, it seems like the masses are waking up and realizing that we've been lied to about the wars, so the support is dwindling. People are sick of perpetual war. The bad news is, those with power don't seem to want to stop any time soon, because they're using war as a means to an end, imo.

So while I share your desire for peace, I don't have hope that it's going to happen in this age. (I hope I'm wrong about that though.)

BUT I agree that the people can still do something. At the very least, we can try to reach as many people as possible to bring awareness to what's going on. And if enough people voice their opposition to the madness, then it should become crystal clear to everyone that our government no longer represents us... and they care not about the cost in lives or dollars. (Trillions)
And if you want it, come and get it... for crying out loud!

People need to actively prevent their children from joining the military. Starting with their recruiters they should should be spat on and ran out of town. They should not have access to our children at school with parents not present.

That's because if they stop Israel will be invaded and destroyed by the mindless islameic ape hordes. Israel's posture is required for survival. If you lived there, you would see clearly what those people live with. The apes must be kept in check... PERIOD.'

Again ... Apes = terrorists and their supporters/sympathizers.

    EXACTLY!!

I like the average Irainians as much as the next guy, but if their gov't doesn't chill out, I will support whatever it is that will guarantee Israel's security. My family comes first, and I'd nuke every single Muslim country if that what it took to save Israel, as far as I'm concerned.

The biggest threat to Israel is it's own rightwing neoconservative BS, IMO. Israel has been disatrous under crooks and thugs from Likud and Kadima.

The reason why we elected Likud was because the Palestinians turned Labor's peace efforts into one big failure, and as for Kadima, they are moderate left-wingers.

It would be nice if Israel laying down arms would suddenly bring peace and love, or if we could just let the Iranians weaponizes plutonium and expect harmony to reign, but it's foolishly naive to believe it.

And, many people will die needlessly if those mistakes are made, heartrending YouTube emotional appeals or not.

It is true that Kadima is not as rightwing as Likud but a party which still has roots associated with Likud.

But taking a rightwing turn because some peace effort did not work out still does not make sense. How is this rightwing turn working out? Wars, blockades, scaremongering, exaggeration of threats, false propaganda to engage in unnecessary wars...

The more you post, the more it seems as though you may be even dumber than Teller, who in my opinion (shared by many others) is the dumbest poster in the history of DA.

Of course, you're also a racist, but that almost goes without saying -- moron -- and is relatively inconsequential, given your almost incomprehensible stupidity and abysmal ignorance on every single subject under the sun.

I don't see how self-defense positions make one a 'right winger'. As far as 'scaremongering' goes, it's pretty hard to top what the PLO, Hamas, Hezbollah, and pretty much every other Islamic country, even thousands of miles away and are in no way threatened by Israel, produce daily in both official political statements and in their own childrens' schools. Left wing is not the same as stupid, moronic, and being totally credulous re the real world. You can't go by what passes for a 'Left' in Europe and the U.S. any more; it's just Bo Boes following a herd, and still regurgitating old Soviet propaganda from the Cold War era, and especially after the U.S. took over as Israel's defense partner after France pulled out in 1967 or so.
The Soviets wanted to take their place, but the U.S. won out, for obvious reasons, and then suddenly the European 'New Left' duly began demonizing Israel. Before France pulled out, most of the Euro Left was pro-Israel. The 'Old Left' warned them about that, but smart advice was ignored, and now they're just another mob of antisemites these days, not real Leftists any more, just Bo Bo fashion victims.
