    Your unpopular MOVIE opinions

    I'll start.
    • Star Wars bored me to death. (I don't think I've ever sat through the whole thing)
    • I disliked Pulp Fiction.
    • I walked out of the movie Sideways after about 10-15 minutes.
    • I hate violent movies, including all the mafia movies that are so popular.

I never got the Star Wars cult following, etc. I thought it sucked. The story line was a clumsy rip off from the Bible.

Are you saying you don't like Clint Eastwood movies?

similarly to your fourth bullet point I have never watched any of the Godfather movies nor do I ever intend to.

Also as a general rule I prefer movies to be subtitled rather than dubbed.

Lastly, the movie "Fear" with Reese Witherspoon is far better than any of the "Scream" movies

Scream movies are comedies aren't they? I just watched some Clint Eastwood stuff on YT. Often he is a Christ figure. High Plains Drifter and Gran Torino being a couple obvious ones.

The Hunt for Red October is grossly overrated.

Oh, good I'm not the only one who doesn't get the Star Wars mania.

Clint Eastwood? I can't say that I'm into his movies. But it's not that I dislike him... It's just a lack of interest in that genre (western/cowboy or tough guy movies). My dad likes him a lot.

Oh, and I hated Million Dollar Baby. You didn't like that one, did you?

I didn't see Million Dollar Baby. Definitely check out Gran Torino. It would be interesting to discuss that movie in regards to the Christian themes contained in it.

Hmm, Ok, I'll keep that in mind, thanks. I do like a lot of old movies and classics.

Did you not see the movie? She chose to die, due to her unfortunate tragedy. I prefer movies that inspire people to get back up and not give up hope, and see the value in life, even if things don't turn out the way we want them to. In her case, she threw away life and (IIRC, it's been a while since I saw it) she turned out to be a coward, not a fighter.

I've seen all 6 star wars films so many time they don't have a number that big. I understand that it's basically a kids movie, but I'm cool with that. Made of awesome, it is.

Mine: There aren't many really good actors in Hollywood. I think you could swap most art school acting kids in for just about any big name and it wouldn't make a lick of difference. Also, I think copyrights should only be for about 10 years. No longer.

I never saw Million Dollar Baby (Hillary Swank kind of freaks me out with those big teeth) but I read the synopsis of the movie.... so glad I didn't bother, it sounds horrible.

Anything with Tom Cruise generally sucks.

Star Wars? meh I don't understand the obsession. I watched the first 2 and that was fine.

Zero desire to watch any of the vampire movies, Twilight etc.

Sideways was much better as a rental. I've watched it twice as a rental and can appreciate the small details, plus went to college around there and can appreciate that.

    Yes I did.

I mean, who the hell would want to live this way.

I prefer movies that inspire people to get back up and not give up hope,
I love fairy tales and happy endings as much as the next guy, however, this was about a real life, and when it came to her, she had no chance of neither hope, nor getting back up, very unfortunately. It's easy to wish those people would still want to keep living, but it's VERY hard putting yourself in their shoes.

and see the value in life, even if things don't turn out the way we want them to.
In general, I do agree, however, this was a VERY extreme case, and nobody should be forced to continue suffering like that. I understand overcoming just about any tragedy, but when you lose your entire body without any hope, it's as bad as it gets.

In her case, she threw away life
Her life was already thrown away, just because she was technically alive after the tragedy doesn't really change too much about the situation.

she turned out to be a coward, not a fighter.
Now, this is a completely stupid thing to say, especially considering that very few people would ever want to live that way.

This movie was excellent! Borrowed some stuff from 1955 classic film noir Kiss Me Deadly.

I swear I remember the name, and I'm nearly certain I liked it, but not quite . . . . 'cause I can't remember a thing about it. I just ordered it. I think I saw it and liked it. I'll find out.
