The good stuff is still there, it's just drowned out by the titillating pap that serves as entertainment these days. You have three hundred channels to choose from, some very few of those are playing host to rational, logical debates between political opposites...and smart ones at that. The rest are showing reruns of 'reality' shows starring middle aged women with puffy lips from their recent collagen injections, telling each other to fuck off.

You guys touched on it with the pundits and Fox, particularly during Dubya. I saw it (and still do) as a closing off of reality. They needed Dubya to get reelected, but he really did fuck up everything he touched, and he really was completely full of shit all the way through. So to keep the flock tight, they started attacking all media that wasn't party propaganda as being zOMG LIBARAL LIES. There was a massive echo chamber that became the sole source of information for a lot of people, Town Hall, Limbaugh, Fox, Coulter, etc., all repeating the same alternative reality, in which Dubya was a Hero, Iraq was a success, and everyone who said otherwise was an America-hating, Terrorist sympathising, atheist muslim fascist communist jackbooted hippy . . . or whatever.

Since they heard that on "several sources" (all part of the same propaganda engine) they thought it was real, and they all repeated that actual, real news was propaganda and lies. They basically divorced themselves from reality, altogether.

I also think it's pretty obvious that the Bush Admin actively coordinated the whole thing, but that's not something I can prove. Just seems kind of obvious, since it was clearly a coordinated propaganda campaign, and it was always in sync with the BA.

In short, Karl Rove made conservatives hysterical, insane retards.

It brought back memories of that little group of aholes who used to hang out in the chatbox. They spent hours everyday constantly trashing everyone here, calling people "retarded", "stupid", "crazy" or whatever. Sorry opti, I know you were part of that circle jerk, but it had to be said. And I was mainly referring to the 2 who no longer post here.

I guess you all are not smart enough to simultaneously berate others while acknowledging the plank in your own eye. Its the old "can't walk and chew gum at the same time" syndrome.
