Is anyone surprised by the polical leanings of those supporting and those opposing the exceutive order?

Congress has been steadily losing it's power to the executive branch. Expedient, but not good.

Riiiight, and a law mandating Mulims register themselves with the Secret Service if a Muslim attempts to assassinate the president wouldn't mean anything either, because it hasn't happened yet?
    The ambassador died, Obama lied.

I'm not in the mood to defend this, as I don't know the details, but it seems really small potatoes compared to the NDAA.

I'm of the opinion that everyone should perform some form of national service. I believe it makes for a population with a better idea of what being an American is about and that's reflected in how they choose to direct our country.
Sorry, I don't believe in any of that nationalistic bullshit. The idea they'll be getting of what being an American is the idea that the state teaches them. My concept of individual freedom, some would call it selfish, supersedes any gain the state or country might gain by forcing involuntary servitude. And by "they" I mean military leaders. They learned a lot from Vietnam. You can't always take a man unwillingly off the street and force him to kill people and still have and effective fighting force but the heart of a volunteer is easily manipulated.

It's all bullshit. Just further proof. His supporters will shrug it off as nothing when taken by itself it, but when you look at every thing else that has happened in the last 10 years it fits very well and is somewhat predictable. It's really not much different than what Ike signed or what Clintoon signed.

Remember how the liberals cried and complained over the passage of the Patriot Act? Yet, their Messiah, Obama, has quietly renewed the Patriot Act twice.

Just goes to show that the President isn't really running the show, whether he's a democrat or republican, both listen to the powers that be to maintain hidden agendas.

Obama himself has done some freaky shit, tho. Like, having US citizens (including one child!) ASSASINATED without due process.

Liberals would have gone apeshit if Bush had done that.

This is disturbing... as Lily said we are so used to giving up freedoms, we let this kind of infringement on our freedom slip past us like it's normal. I don't know why a President would preemptively do this when we are not in a state of war (immediate country, not including the quagmire in the Middle East). I don't care if the govt. thinks there's a good reason for this. I don't trust any administration to control all our resources. Period.

We've been telling you this for years but nobody listens. This nothing in comparison to other stuff I could point out over the last 10 years. The countless attacks on civil rights, and other abuses have come to a head in this time in this place. All the people who know this stuff are getting ready to throw down. Others are just waking up from 10 years of senseless existence to find out wow, I am really not free at all. Something is going to give.

I can't believe you finally came out and admitted this. I'm filled with joy right now.

These people you see filling sand bags outside their house and hording food are definitely in the know. Other people blame other things but react the same way. They know something is off. American society is in a state of nervous anxiety and most can't even point out why, but they're starting to figure it out, slowly.
