I'm Kelly, 34, mother of 2. I'm kind of a hippie and homeschool my kids. Uh...liberal (as yáll have probably figured out) and I'm a skeptic and an atheist.

I found this forum years ago when a member here (Lord Vader? He used to sign his posts with "Be well" iirc) ripped off a bunch of posts from another forum I hang out at and someone else from here went to the other forum and told us we were being plagiarized by dude. Dude was also a member at the other forum, and my nemesis, so the whole thing pleased me mightily. I finally had PROOF he was an asshole.

So, what's the deal with you guys?

I cook,clean,do windows,garden, and keep after a 14 year old who is my youngest and in 8th grade and a nephew who is 12 and in 7th grade. FWIW, my BFF was a stripper for years. Dancers are often good people. Smart people. My BFF eventually stopped dancing and got a degree from Oxford.

I'm Eric. I'm 43 (just had a b-day), work in IT (Linux/Unix/backups/whateverelseneedstobedone). I'm single, like it that way. I like adrenaline related activities, especially snow skiing, skateborading, motorcycles and cars. I don't drink, had to give it up years ago, because I was too good at it. More-or-less liberal politics. I used to vote LP, but my understanding of economics changed once I actually got some money in the bank. Grew up in abject poverty and now I live in a working class neighborhood because I don't feel comfortable around middle class people. I keep a small collection of close friends and a large collections of loose acquaintances. I read a lot of history and day dream too much. People usually think I'm a little weird. I'm cool with that. My social skills and manners leave much to be desired, but I'm cool with that, too.

Going through a divorce, which has been hell, and that I don't think will ever be done.
I work in the Financial Services industry and in the process of switching jobs.

My girls are 22, 17 and 4 on Thursday and my son is 6. My grand daughter is 2 1/2 and is a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic.
I'm stressed pretty much all the time.
I'm hard to peg on the political spectrum and get called both a liberal and a conservative, a leftist and a rightist, a globalist and a statist.
I just think I'm me, and whether you love me or hate me, what you see is what you get, and I refuse to change for anyone.

I'm 64, retired from industry eight years now and have been married for 30.

The closest spiritual label for me would be deist.

I started out politically conservative, got more liberal as I matured, finally bailed on the GOP in '07 because it had veered too far off the road and into the ditch on the right where it remains. Currently I believe the Dems represent the best interests of most Americans even though I fit the affluent white male Republican pigeonhole quite nicely.

I'm fiscally conservative, but that means frugal, not cheap. What something costs is less significant to me than the value received from it. I'm not shy about initial outlay when the dividends down the road make it a good deal. I think long term when considering any plan or change in plans.

I'm currently studying Chinese language for entertainment value, mental exercise, and because I've always wanted to be able to read a Chinese newspaper.
