People might use scientific facts (just like any other facts) to justify their politics/political views, but science itself isn't objective, it's based on facts, not personal opinions and political views.

Most archaeology in Israel, like archaeology everywhere else, is found during redevelopment -the only point where anyone gives a crap about what's below the surface. So there's already a bias between economically developed Israel and slowly developing everywhere else.

I suspect they hate it more when Israeli excavation teams destroy their heritage to get to Jewish remains that they deem more important. But I don't want to get into the land rights issue again, and you know my position on that already.

I'm not denying modern-day Israel wasn't Jewish in the past (up to a point, but we've mentioned this recently), but as it happens the archaeology of North America is incredibly fraught with tensions -as it should be, because colonial heritage is always complex.

Two of your country's leading archaeologists Israel Finkelstein and Eilat Mazar uncritically use the OT to guide and explain their research. That's so unscientific that proper, Western archaeologists had stopped doing that by the early 20th century.

    Low budget?

I have no trouble playing guitar in any position, it's just something that Rock musicians do, grandma, at least since the late 1950s.
Actually its not necessary if one has talent.

    Possibly.

I'm sure you'd call me a looter then Archie. I don't know what you European Archies are like but around here we call them grave robbers. It's always a good day when I get on a site and dig up all the goodies while taking the site out of historical context because there is little left to be learned about Napoleonic battle tactics so I certainly don't mind digging up valuable civil war stuff and denying the state funded archaeologists the chance later on.

A friend of mine has a Masters in Archaeology from Columbia. His undergrad is in Art History from Colby. Yes he liked to party hardy! There are easier majors, but not many.

No, just because I'm having troubles falling asleep sometimes doesn't mean I'm disabled and need a special parking pass.

Are you trying to say he was so drunk that he couldn't tell the difference between Hebrew and Arabic when he found some ancient stuff in Israel?

Ganga, get over it. You have been brainwashed. Embrace your Russian roots and move on. And hopefully your "management" is not another scam in which you pretend to be disabled to get gigs. But antiquity's point is true in today's gig scene. All that really matters is performance and how many folks you can bring to a gig. I don't think pics of you is gonna help that situation! Unless you lost some weight and got a nose job!

No, their research just proves that many of the historical parts of the OP were really true, but that's something that historians have known for many many years anyways.

I checked Wikipedia and still there is absolutely no evidence of the Garden of Eden, Tablets, Arks, nor Ancient Israel nor all of their ancient war activity. And absolutely no evidence of any bloodline that connects any modern person to these mythical tribes.

Get over what? Brainwashed by who?

Embrace your Russian roots and move on.
What "Russian roots"? Me speaking Russian doesn't make me one anymore than Yassir Arafat's knowledge of Hebrew made him a Jew.

And hopefully your "management" is not another scam in which you pretend to be disabled to get gigs
Why are you so jealous of my success? Sometimes you should just be happy for people, even if you're not a big fan of their personality (or ethnicity).

But antiquity's point is true in today's gig scene. All that really matters is performance and how many folks you can bring to a gig.
Well, this Friday, our performance was excellent and our crowd was about 200 people, so I guess I'm not doing too bad.

I don't think pics of you is gonna help that situation! Unless you lost some weight and got a nose job!
Trust me, I would if I was half as fat as you or if my nose was nearly as big as yours, in fact, if you lost weight, you'd probably look like Barbra Streisand.

Snouter, you're Jewish and yes, your fathers lived in the kingdom of Judah/Israel thousands of years ago, and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it, get over it.

Here it is once again. Someone points out the fact that archeology is easily politicized and you try to paint them as taking sides in the debate. Why is that?

Nighthawks. And good luck finding Napoleonic War stuff in, er, America.

Well, seeing as the Islamic Arabic expansion occurred in the 7th century, it would be an idiotic pursuit anyway. It's not important to me, or even to the Palestinian movement, to demonstrate who was there first.

“Their heritage” goes back over a thousand years, and up to the 20th century. It's certainly important, just as Jewish heritage is important.

That 19th-21st century Jewish immigrants have more of a right to that land than any other ethnicity, that 'being there first' is meaningless, and that science cannot confirm or deny Zionist claims. Or Palestinian ones for that matter.

No, they've used the Bible to help interpret archaeology, not do what they ought to have been doing this whole time: using archaeology to test the accuracy of the OT.

You can only politicize science so much, because science is based on actual facts, not people's personal opinion. If you find ancient Jewish stuff in Israel, it's not a matter of politics or people's opinions, but rather about historical evidence and facts.
