France’s secret war against the Syrian people
By OzHouse On February 25, 2012 · voltairenet.org
During the assault on the rebel stronghold in the Homs district of Bab Amr, the Syrian army took more than 1,500 prisoners, mostly foreigners. Of these, a dozen French nationals requested the status of prisoner of war, refusing to give their identity, rank and unit of assignment. One of them is a Colonel working for the DGSE transmission service.
In arming the Wahhabi Legion and feeding it with satellite intelligence, France conducted a secret war against the Syrian army, which caused more than 3,000 deaths among the military, and more than 1,500 among civilians in ten months of fighting. ….
France has sought Russia’s assistance to negotiate with Syria the release of its prisoners of war.

This may tell you why Strauss Kahn (former president of IMF) was in trouble. His party leads over Sarcozy in coming president election. Sarcozy supports US' war in Mid-east. That's why Kahn is tarnished. A tactic to help Sarcozy to stay in his president seat.

40 Turkish intelligence agents captured in Syria
Sunday, February 19, 2012
Western officials fear that Iranian military presence along with Russian aid could turn Syria into a center of international friction much worse than the struggle inside Syria. They fear that the control over actions in Syria will be taken over by a Russian-Iranian "partnership" which would exclude the European Union and Turkey and that U.S. involvement could be too late and inefficient.
Turkey fears this development after a diplomatic crisis erupted with Syria when more than 40 Turkish intelligence officers were captured by the Syrian army. Over the past week, Turkey has been conducting intensive negotiations with Syria in order to secure their freedom, and Syria insists that their release will be conditioned on the extradition of Syrian officers and soldiers that defected and are currently in Turkey.

Syria: anti-government groups committed Houla massacre
Reuters – 1 hr 6 mins ago
BEIRUT (Reuters) - Syria said on Thursday a preliminary investigation showed that anti-government armed groups committed a massacre last week in Houla, in which 108 people were killed, with the aim of encouraging foreign military intervention against the Syrian government.
Brigadier General Qassem Jamal Suleiman, head of the investigation committee formed by the government, said the victims were families "who refused to oppose the government and were at odds with the armed groups".
He said many of the victims were relatives of a member of the Syrian parliament.

Houla massacre carried out by Free Syrian Army, according to Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung
By Chris Marsden
13 June 2012
The May 25 Houla massacre was perpetrated by opposition forces aligned with the Free Syrian Army (FSA), according to Germany’s leading daily newspaper, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
The report refutes the official account by the United States and other major powers and presented uncritically by the media. The massacre was attributed to pro-government forces and used to step up the propaganda offensive for military intervention against the regime of Bashar al-Assad. Without providing any serious evidence, the US and its allies claimed that either the Syrian Army or pro-government Shabiha militas carried out the mass killing of over 100 people.
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on June 7 published a report from Damascus by Rainer Hermann, who based his article on investigations by oppositionists who visited the area and took eye-witness testimony. They largely confirm the account of the events in Houla given by the Assad government.
......
On the day of the attacks, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, without evidence, condemned the Syrian government’s “unacceptable levels of violence and abuses”, including the use of heavy weapons on civilian populations.
The regime noted that the massacre was timed to coincide with the visit of UN envoy Kofi Annan to Damascus. It charged that the mass killings were carried out to undermine the ceasefire Annan had negotiated. Soon after, the FSA, which is now accused of carrying out the massacre, said it would no longer respect the Annan peace plan. New demands for military intervention came thick and fast.

U.S. Military Announces Syria War Plans Are Ready
Posted by Alexander Higgins - June 14, 2012
The U.S. military has completed plans to conduct operations against Syria which all involve large numbers of U.S. troops and extended operation.
Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, tells CNN that the U.S. military has completed planning to conduct a variety of military operations against Syria in the event orders are issued.
The plans outline a variety of operations which Pentagon officials tell CNN all involve a large number of U.S. troops and involve a long-term deployment into the region.
The Pentagon’s war plans seem to focus on three areas of importance – direct military actions Syria, securing alleged weapons of mass destruction depots, and providing military support to neighboring nations to keep the war contained within Syria.
Officials warn the civil war inside Syria will lead to a situation on the ground with a level of violence committed by insurgent forces far greater than what the US faced in Iraq.

The war on Syria is definitely on Obama's bucket list.
