Question: Why was the life of the four people who survived considered a miracle and the 420+ who died that day taken as 'God's will'?

The rainbow is a natural phenomenon as proven by science. And I have a feeling the rainbow has been around for billions of years. But I think that might have been lost on you when Revelation was added to the Bible.

No, intercessory prayer has been tested. (and if the god advertized exists, prayer should have an effect. Unless the God is so wiley and determined to not be detected that he intentionally tricks scientists.)
