That's my argument. It doesn't matter why the notion is put to rest, it's a bad idea. The reasons are numerous.

The Constiution does not give one a "right" to be on welfare,it does give one a right to vote.
Anyway, you'd be on welfare if you weren't mooching off your parents.
Neither Obama or Clinton ever claimed to be "Leftists" , right-wing media claims that,no credilble surce does.
You can buy a gun illegally if you don't like the system, the same option does not exist for voting.
Ever hear of the 1965 Voting Rights Act?
The Constitution allows it.
Not true in many rural areas(including one I used to live in).
There are many people in many rural areas who don't drive, for them it is indeed too difficult.
Again ,why do this if there is no proof whatsoever that so-called "voter fraud" has ever happend in the first place?
Why nail the barndoor shut when the existing lock works just fine?
It is difficult for any decent person to sit back and not comment on the anti-Semitism,racism ,sexism ,and all-around ignorance espoused on the majority of DA's posts,it's fucking sad when one gets a warning for simply being a decent person.

The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.

SO, if they don't drive, how do they vote?
You've let Moe hit you over the head too many times if you think that there is no voter fraud.Again ,why do this if there is no proof whatsoever that so-called "voter fraud" has ever happend in the first place?

By mail. And in Oregon, online. Once identity and eligibility are established upon registration, voting is a simple affair.
Or is supposed to be. There are those who, for their own reasons, want to make it difficult for others to exercise their constitutional rights any way they can.

Well, hell. Let's just all vote by text message like we're picking the next American Idol.![]()

I wouldn't recommend voting while driving. That could be illegal voting.![]()

When will the world learn that a million men are of no importance compared with one man? [Henry David Thoreau]
The 24th Amendment prohibits any form of poll tax. Unless states issue free photo ID to residents, it could be argued that requiring such ID to vote is an unconstitutional poll tax.
Still another reason.

BTW, ChaCha, this is wrong.
Since there is no constitutional right to vote, making it difficult isn't something the feds can do much about. There are those who, for their own reasons, want to make it difficult for others to exercise their constitutional rights any way they can.

We, as citizens, can oppose efforts to make the voting process more of a challenge than it need be.

There are no other good reasons to oppose them. It boils down to one thing, and one thing only. Most of those who don't currently hold photo ID's vote democrat. They can easily get the ID's, so what you fear is that many won't, and thus won't be able to vote democrat.
The ambassador died, Obama lied.
