On January 20th ,2009 ,a (liberal) friend of mine said "Barack Obama will be the Black FDR".
It looks like that indeed has come to be true.
Like FDR ,a less than competent Republican president left Obama with the worst economic mess we had seen since the Great Depression , and a fragile overseas situation (the Middle East) the world hadn't seen since Europe and Asia in WWII.
Even the modern-day isolationst movement is very much like the isolationist movement during WWII that said " Ignore Hitler and Hirohito and they won't bother us,the Jews and the Chineese brought it on themselfs".
Even isolationist Pat Buchanan has equated Syria with the Spanish Civil War.
And it looks like Obama will the first president since FDR to get re-elected despite these problems,or maybe because like in FDR's day,people haven't forgotten it was the GOP that had gotten us into these messes in the first place.

It is difficult for any decent person to sit back and not comment on the anti-Semitism,racism ,sexism ,and all-around ignorance espoused on the majority of DA's posts,it's fucking sad when one gets a warning for simply being a decent person.
