What's really scary is that Rush is also popular for a reason. He really represents a significant % of the population.

I think he's useful to the ruling class, but not really representative of their beliefs.
I'd also suspect that for every white male who listens to him and generally agrees with his hateful insanity, there are 3 more who hold those same beliefs but don't listen to him often.

And then there's the issue of Sarah Palin during the '08 campaign. People screaming 'cunt' at her, even wearing t-shirts with the word 'cunt' emblazoned on the front at her appearances.
I don't think Imus should have been fired. I don't really think any of them should be fired for free speech. However, there should be repercussions such as advertisers pulling out, fewer viewers, shows demoted to lesser times of day, etc. I guess the advertisers pulling ads is a biggie since Rush has officially apologized.

And who on the left who are now shaking with outrage came to her defense when it happened? Did Pelosi commiserate with her? Did Obismal call her? Was she made the subject of shocked, and outraged editorials? Was she feted on national talk shows? No?

I'd guess there are two things going on there. One is that a lot of people don't even know who Schultz even is (I'd never even heard of him before this thread) and another is that what he said wasn't quite as frothing-at-the-mouth-rabid-rant like Rush's diatribe.
So you'll have no problem quoting Rush where he called this woman a slut, then? I'm glad to hear it, and I'll wait right here until you post the transcript.
