Two days ago in San Diego, I went to the local Shell station, found Regular going for $4.29/gal.

Figured I could find it for cheaper, so I drove two miles to the ARCO station. They had it for $4.27/gal. Usually that station is the cheapest around. If I really dug, I might find it for a few cents less.

Prices have gone up about $.05/gal since then.

Link to local gas prices, usually pretty accurate:

$3.63 for regular today. Most stations are a bit higher but I have one that is always a little less.

    $4.25 to $4.30 for gas (87 octane). $4.35 to $4.50 for diesel.

    Propane is running $4.00.

Will be hitting $5.00 by summer.

Scandal? The government dispatched more firepower to arrest Nakoula Basseley Nakoula in Los Angeles than it did to protect its mission in Benghazi.

    I'll be damned.

The cost of a gallon of fuel went up over the last couple of days. It's pretty much $4.40 around town.

Supply and demand, folks. Same reason why real estate is high here.

Yeah but they do force certain mixtures of gasoline that are more expensive and that drives the cost up. What what is the gas tax in cali?

It just hit 3.78 a gallon here where I live. Up a whopping 16 cents a gallon from my last fill up less than a week ago. Thanks Obama!

You know, like not wanting ethanol in the gas because it increases pollution and costs? But we can thank middle america corn subsidies for that one!

Optimus, there's a 76 on Fairfax/Beverly that always seems to have the lowest prices, last I filled up it was $4.29 for 87.

I believe they also have much, much stricter laws on maintaining the underground storage tanks since they're on a fault line. I used to know a guy who owned a gas station, and he said the main reason gas was more expensive in CA is becuase they have to dig up and replace the tanks on a fairly regular basis.
