I am reading the PMs and trying to respond. I'll summarize here what I've responded privately. I don't really view any permaban as permanent, given other bans we've listed. The better way to look at it is a ban without an expiration. (Semantics I know) I'm open to looking into DTs release. I'd want to discuss it with the other staff, and that may take some time for everyone to hash out opinions.

Sounds fair to me. But I also think Spam banning is a little to tough on some of the newbys. I think a warning to change whatever they spammed and if they don't then ban them. We need new posters to keep the different points of view coming.

If Manu is going to discuss it with the mods I think we can expect the ban to hold. The mods don't want DT back so they will talk Manu out of it i'm sure. This should please the mods, Teller, Ganja and their "ilk" cause now they will be able to have their nice little mediocre board with no controversy or real debate going on and anybody who challenges that will be permabanned. My congrats to them on a job well done and have a nice tea time ladies.

Indeed sending messages to Sirvilk and Monster or other warning givers probably would have helped. No doubt they feel slighted by the messages going over their head direct to Manu since it implies they misjudged a situation.

So maybe we need a list of active mods and then send them individual appeals to free a neegah.

That's a good point, I just figured by going to the boss man direct it would "trickle down" to the other mods anyway. But if anyone involved in Team Occupy DA - Mission Free Dick Tator wants to send a PM to Siv or Monster (the only active mods) then go for it!

Thank you for the explanation. In lieu of sending you a PM I'll just say this. The rules are what the rules are and they should be adhered to and administered objectively and consistently. I think that's all that members ask for and can respect if it's done in that manner. Despite the nature of DT's ban, the fact that he personally attacked a Mod should carry no more weight than him personally attacking another member. He broke the personal attack rule, not the personal attack a staff member rule. Personal vendettas by staff members against members are frankly an abuse of power.
