...The grand jury not only dropped the charges against Mr. McIntosh, but also elevated misdemeanor trespass charges against the women to third-degree felony burglary.

It is bizarre the prosecution was only going to deal with that savage behavior with probation. What kind of insane legal system initially punishes someone for defending themselves? Is Sharia Law totally flucked up like USA law?

Dude, calm down. If cops come on a scene with a bunch of bloodied people, each claiming they were victims of assault, they take everybody downtown. Sort it out later. Which they did. If you read to the bottom of the OP, you would realize that the grand jury elevated the charges against the assailants to felony burglary. A federal prison will help the idiots figure out the difference between a victim and an assailant.

Yeah, the police cannot read minds, so in cases like this, they get a big net initially and sort it out later.

When a story with emotions breaks, it is wise to look at it again in a few days. We humans tend to get emotional and not think.

Unlike some on DA, I admire the police for many reasons in spite of the fact that there are a few bad cops.

Me? I'm dialing 911 if someone tried to cause me harm. Others can go it alone. Not me.
