The will be the whipping boys of the SEC for a long time coming.
Isn't it great to have your team in a real conference now?

The same shepherd that protects the flock leads them to the slaughterhouse.
They're not that bad, but they just can't hold a lead, LOL. They'll have no trouble with Old Miss or Kentucky.
New Years Day and there's NO college ball on!!! WTF!

It doesn't matter. Your participation will pay dividends. Look at South Carolina. You're 10X better than that team. It's all good.

It's all about money!!
How I fail to remember that sometimes is a mystery.
TV, cable contracts mean a lot more than winning or losing, and A&M has a huge alumi base and they are perhaps the most loyal in the nation (or, close to it).
Least we forget, the Honchos In Charge that run the conferences don't do it for free. They get paid, and plenty. I wish I knew how much they were paid.

Still, think about how much better you'll be!
I think how much better off the SEC will be from an academic perspective.
And I admit I am not one that follows sports in a close way. I was until the media went from showing 2 games on Saturday to 20. The Game of the Week meant something long ago. I overloaded long ago with the many games and seldom watch even a quarter of a given game.
TRUE: I do not even know who won the title game: LSU or Alabama. I never bothered to even look for the winner on any media. Did not watch a single play.
That shows how much interest I have lost, for when I was 20 or so I'd have been glued to that game.
Saturation? Yes. That is what the many games has done to me over the years. For those that watch bunches of games, good for them.
I have a term I use for the “beyond absurd”—“patently laughable.” I only use it on special occassions when the term fits. It is Yes, it is “patently laughable” to even think about how bad the Aggies men’s basketball team will lose Kentucky, Florida, Missouri, etc. It is a scared tem; almost sacrosanct. I use it rarely.
Kentucky will beat them by 100 points.
But here's some news for you SECers—the Aggies rank #5 in overall athletic competition. They'll do more than compete.
The AD has exceeded my exeptations in every sport but football. When Byrne came from Nebraska to A&M, the athletic department was run by the "good ole boy" system. People were in positions they were clueless about. That changed. "Good ole boys" got booted; and they were way over their heads.
Regardless of the football team's fiasco, Byrne is a miracle worker. They stole him from his Athletic Director job at Nebraska and this guy is one smart dude.
The tennis team, the swimming team—both are strong. Both are ranked.
The women’s badketball team made the final four—I forget who they lost to, but they lost. They have all but one player coming back.
TRACK AND FIELD? Both men/women’s Track and Field teams won back-to-back national titles (2009 and 2010) and this year they are again ranked #1 going into the finals. Check your SEC schools—find one that did a “double” on the national title. I can save you the time. You already know. Indeed, doing a "double" has been done only 5 times in NCAA history.
The baseball team is 20-5 and ranked.
The women's softball team ranked.
The football team is like a client I have in Mississippi—rather, a client’s lawyer--quipped about the joys of living in Mississippi. “My friend, when you are at the bottom of the barrel, you can only go up.” [Hilarious man and brilliant.]
The football team can’t sink much more than this past season. If it does, I can tell you one person that shall lose no sleep over it. That would be me.
Really?
Tell Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, LSU (LSU beat them by 5) and Florida (lost to them by 3) that. The SEC is no doubt the best conference, from top to bottom, in Div-1 football and the Ags have done better than I expected. Better than you did, too, it seems.
They lose to Alabama (best college team in the nation), probably to Miss State, and that's it. I do think Alabama will beat them easily and maybe the Tide and the Notre Dame Cheatin' Irish play for the national title. I hope not because I had rather the Univeristy of Satan win a game than Notre Dame win a game.
The Ags had to leave the Big-12 to improve their record.
Wow, what happened to Auburn? I know what OU's problem is: Their quarterback is great one week and terrible the next.
What has happened to Texas? OU hung 60+ on them and they barely beat 1 and 7 Kansas tonight, having to score 2 TDs in the fourth quarter to win it, 21 to 17.
College football. It's a strange old dog.

Now if the SEC schools could only catch up with the Ags as far as scholastically. But that won't be possible in God's lifetime. We cannot expect, however, the impossible to happen.ESPN Stats & Info Week 13 Conference Power Rankings
