Sometimes I wonder what dating life would be like if I were suddenly single again. That's my random thought for the day.

We want a man who can take care of our potential family on his own in a pinch. You guys tend to look at the short term of when will I get layed. If your failing to provide for an early date no matter how silly it sounds, it may send up a red flag with your date that either you are too cheap and don't think enough of her or that you can't pay the bill.
I wanted to add that some of us have always made our own money and never needed a man to get a meal. Geeesh really guys. Do you all think women are that hard up or is your experience with women that narrow? Back away from the ditz and bimbo pools and you might actually find a good looking woman with brains and money of her own.

To those of you dating in California then all I can say is move.

The women would be older? Divorced and bitter? Baggage, emotional and otherwise? The few never marrieds I know are pretty cool and happy but very set in their ways.

As someone who will be dating sometime in the hopefully not-too-far future, I am perfectly capable and willing to pick up my share of a meal. The gesture of the man paying is nice, but not required.

Because divorce sucks, and it's stressing me the hell out. I come here for a break and see behavior that I see from my 6 and 3-year old kids, only I expect it from them.

I've got a man who thinks he can bully/sweetly blackmail me into not pursuing child support so he won't try to evict us from our own home. There's a hearing on that very issue next week.

After 3 months and numerous excuses that have run out, he's finally starting to see our kids, but not for nearly the full time allotted, and of course he hasn't paid a dime towards their support these last almost 3 months, but I'm the bad person because I need and expect some financial help out of him. There's a hearing on this next week as well.

Oh, and he wants me to drop the criminal charges from when he assaulted my 16-year old daughter, which is what started all of this.

So do I have the desire to put up with the childish BS that goes on here? Not so much right now.

Assuming it is a given that this is not going to be a first date, but rather a second or beyond, would you consider it poor form to take a date to a restaurant where you could get free/discounted service?
I'd do it. if your "friend" that works there is a hottie, you may want to limit contact while the other chick is there .... no titty slapping the "friend" in front of the date .... just IMO.
