Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.

Then you fail to connect the dots.
In the global economy we are all related. This applies to all people on this earth, you, I and everyone. His death at Cancun during the WTO conference served as a call to all of us that free trade is not necessarily fair trade. Farmers, workers and all of us are part of this. We need to stand together to fight this horror.

What horror?
CD needs to speak with CR because he thinks unfair trade is just dandy. You national socialist liberals need to work on the global communist liberals to sort this shit out.

Good points. If he were electable I think he would be a good candidate.
Gutting entitlements to poor and working people is not good policy though
Not all. But some are. I am one of them.

Great, let's all be like China.
Where in the US can you live on twenty five cents an hour? There's nothing wrong with American workers. The cost of living is completely different. Tariffs need to exist to account for the difference. If you call me a liberal again, I'll kick your internet persona'a ass.

more whining. go occupy wall street.
if your labor is worth 25 cents an hour (which is far lower than what most chinese manufacturing workers are actually paid) then you should try moving somewhere (like, say, india) where you can live on that. otherwise, tough luck. learn some new skills and get a new job.
My labor is worth as much as I can get for it. That's capitalism. Wall Streets not the problem. The problem lies in governments propensity to get screwed and it's inability to craft a fair trade agreement.

i agree -- which is why i support free trade. stop whining about low wages in china, then.
the problem is that americans believe they are entitled to make more money than chinese or indians or brazilians or russians. they are not.
if a chinese or indian worker can do the same job, for cheaper, than an american, then it would be dumb not to set up shop in china or india.
I said FAIR trade. Americans don't feel entitled to make more, government rules and regulations force us to ask for more. Get back to me when the Chinese and Indians have to comply with all the things Americans do.

i agree with the elimination of bureaucratic red - tape but americans are still conditioned to believe they deserve absurdly high wages (more than 9.00 an hour or so) for manufacturing jobs. that is bullshit.
i believe GM re-negotiated their contracts and new hires ended up earning 14.00 an hour. the same type of work pays closer to 3.50 an hour in china.
How the hell would you know?
You conservatives think that just because you protect the interests of big money and their "right" to send american jobs to China while making it impossible for average american workers to maintain a standard a living that that somehow makes you "Libertarian?" Who the hell do YOU think you are telling ME that no libertarian would have me?
Incidentally I am not a Liberal. That is too soft a word for what I truly believe in. I am a leftist, and specifically a Libertarian Social-Democrat. IMHO we on the left are the TRUE libertarians since we add to basic human rights, the rights to health care and the rights of human beings not to starve to death.
