Scandal? The government dispatched more firepower to arrest Nakoula Basseley Nakoula in Los Angeles than it did to protect its mission in Benghazi.

i've said this several threads before: the people who are unemployed, right now, in america are unemployed by choice. they value leisure over money -- which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but i would not want to be in their position.
it's why all these morons screaming that obama is ruining the economy are wrong, too. the average american has never had it better: more leisure time, higher compensation, etc.
too bad people allow their pessimistic bias to cloud their judgement, especially on economic matters.
Claiming that unemployment creates leisure time is a completely fucking stupid concept.

except i never claimed that, did i? my point is that these people would rather sit at home and collect their unemployment checks or live off of friends/relatives than get a job. guess what? the agriculture industry IS HIRING WORKERS (putting a lie to the idea that america doesnt need mexicans). it is just that these people have a much higher preference for leisure than work, so they DO NOT WANT to go out in the fields and grab tomatoes for $14.00 an hour (not a bad wage, really).
Cut off that unemployment check and they'll work for a lot less than that.

The longest stretch I've EVER been out of work was from 10/2008-5/2009.
I work in the financial services industry. I got a job during the "worst financial crisis since the great depression".
It can be done.
In fact, I got the job in 5/2009, and then upgraded to a better one in 10/10, and am in the process of upgrading yet again.
The work is there for those who seriously look for it.
And no, I'm not in sales. Jobs in my line of specialization are hard to find sometimes, but they ARE there. I'm not too proud to start out at the bottom and work my way up. I've done it at every job I've ever had. All I want is the chance to get my foot in the door, and then go from there.
I'm in line for a promotion at my current job, and should get it.
I'm not trying to brag, just to point out that the opportunities, even in this economy, are there for those willing to suck up some pride, bust ass at work and prove you have the skills to advance.
