There's nothing wrong with free trade as long as it's done fairly. The current version of free trade favors other countries due to ridiculously low labor rates.
As few Americans support free trade anymore it's surprising that there hasn't been a revolution.
When was the last time a politician who openly opposed free trade lost an election???

If you understand nothing about comparative advantage, that is.
Comparative advantage is global socialism.

Uh, no. It isn't.

You should talk to the current leftist regime Jackie, my boy, most off shoring occurs because of government.

No, it does not. Most offshoring happens because American wages are higher. If you do basic math and compare the wage differential between China and any modernized nation you'll find it's the wages that make a greater difference than anything else combined: Chinese wages are 5% of what American wages are. East India labor is just a little more expensive than in China.
Basically: you can cut all the taxes and regulations you want, the only way anyone in the world will be competitive with China and India is to lower their standard of living. And you cannot compete on innovation because all China or India has to do is copy you. And guess where the new research centers are popping up?

Then what do you suggest we do to fix it?
Increase tariffs and taxes on imported goods to the point that manufacturing comes back and America is competitive again.

....and then watch as our economy stations and our entire private sector collapses as profit margins quickly fall to zero across the whole commercial spectrum.

Prices would necessarily have to rise, but that doesn't mean profits would fall.

Harmless, hardly, its the final step toward globlable socialism. Equal distribution of world wealth.... a liberal socialist dream. The major problem with that is who will be the ones to support those who have come to depend on government entitlements?globalization of production is harmless and inevitable.
Inevitable? Possible, at the moment it could go either way.

Remember the axiom of big government bureaucrats: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. When, finally, under the crushing weight of taxes and regulation, it stops moving, subsidize it. Going Postal
Higher wages due to unions and increased medical care has increased the offshoring. Obamacare (the fear of it) has greatly exacerbated corporations tendency to go out of country.
However CR the government is responsible for the fact that the average persons wage's are often less than half the cost of having him on the payroll. They are also responsible for all the regulations over half of which don't arguably make anyone safer.
