a few random thoughts and chit chat

    1) Where the hell is everybody? Oh, I forgot...it's Saturday night. But actually, the last few times I've popped in here, even on a week night this place has been filled with tumbleweeds and <<<chirping crickets>>> I guess I need to come here at some time other than 2 in the morning.

    2) Not that anyone cares, but I'm thinking of cutting my long bangs into actual bangs. I'm just not sure... it'll take months to grow out, if it looks awful.

    3) I think I'm going to make homemade crepes tonight. With fresh raspberries and whipped cream.

    4) Do you think it's possible for someone to own a business, and not know how to read and write? (I'm half kidding about that). I'm beginning to wonder if my current client can write/type. I haven't received one email from him, not one. We've done all of our talking in person or on the phone. Which has prolonged and dragged out the whole thing, and has delayed me moving back to California, because.... eh, long story.

    5) My fb friends here already know this, but I re-designed my website. Take a look, if you're bored and have a few minutes. Critiques are welcome, as long as you're not too brutal. It wasn't the design I originally wanted to do, but I decided to make it really simple and clean. Hopefully it's not TOO simple.

    6) I'll probably be back later. Hopefully it won't be so quiet around here.
And if you want it, come and get it... for crying out loud!
'cause this love that he has given you was never in doubt.

    1. I feel yer pain... the silence in here can really suck...

    2. I haven't seen pix of wut the hair looks like now, but I'd advise against a drastic cut... unless you really feel the need to draw attention to yourself...

    3. I strongly suggest fresh strawberries instead of raspberries... and mebbe vanilla yogurt instead of whipped cream...

    4. A semi-literate person can certainly be successful in business... if he is unafraid to surround himself with persons who are more educated than himself and be willing to watchfully delegate authority to them...

    5. I'll look at your website later...

    6. mebbe it'll be more noisy in here next time you drop by...

btw... did you know that you have the same name as my dear sweet youngest daughter...? would you like me to tell you about her...?

Haha, thanks for replying to each of those comments! I'll consider your advice about the haircut. Strawberries are always yummy too (I haven't tried crepes with yogurt) but I have fresh raspberries now, so I gotta eat them before they go bad! Good point on #4. I was just wondering, because it seems really odd that he has never sent an email. Maybe he just doesn't like emails or is rarely online, dunno.

Yes, I would love to hear about her!

Aww, thank you!! I'm glad you liked it. That's so cool you adopted a little girl! I think I might do that someday, when I get married. (God willing, heh) How old was she when you adopted her?

Thanks NB!!! I appreciate that. Now I want to re-design my blog, but sheesh, there's never enough time... I have a few other projects that I also want to do, in my spare time, but anyway... the company site definitely needed to be re-designed and updated.

hahaha!! I was talking about just the bangs, not all of it. The rest I'll just take an inch or 2 off, as I usually do. My hair grows fast.

^ that's funny. You must not be around lots of Americans. I love English words or phrases. Like "crisps" instead of chips.

    I changed the pic.

Not really socially no, there's one or two I know in real life and hairstyle terminology hasn't really come up with the ones I interact with on forums lol.

Yeah lots of people have said it's weird we call them crisps but chips are thick cut fried potatoes like you get in a restaurant, fries are what you get from McDonald's.

    we call it a pony.

I think you should simplify the website even more and lose the curve in the line.

maybe add a tree, something like this..

I don't think the words/phrases are weird, but kinda cute. I lived in England once, for a few months (long time ago). I actually had a hard time understanding some people, when they talked really fast, haha!

WOW! So cool that you just came up with that...I never thought of putting a tree in the horizon, but it does look kinda cool! It gives it a different kind of look. I'm just thinking maybe the sun should be more prominent (or maybe I can add more colors to the sun), so the focus is not soley on the tree.. I'll think about this, and maybe talk to you more about it later? It's almost 4 am here. I shouldn't still be up!

thanks!!! ps - what's the story behind the screen name change?

    see you guys later!

I'd say go with it the way Jer's got it, but I think I'd need to see comparison shots on that.

The bangs might actually work for you - keep 'em Brooke-ish like the pic, though. In other words, don't make 'em too short. If this is a new look for you, I'd suggest layering on the sides accordingly, so it's not too much all at once, not to mention too harsh.

More importantly, why are we not facebook friends?

Thanks for your input NB. I think I'll try that for my site...not exactly that way, but I'm going to play around with that idea.

About the bangs - yeah, I wouldn't cut them too short (like Betty Page bangs.. although I do like that look on some people) and tapering the sides is probably a good idea, although I don't want it too layered. Anyway, If it turns out ok, I'll post a before-after pic.

Bangs are in. Do it. If you hate them, they are somewhat easy to grow out with bobby pins but I think you'll like the look.

Like the website, and like the addition of the tree. You did Malcolm's Whale LIke Me site? That was really really awesome which brings me to my suggestion... why don't you show past work you've done on your site. You will sell yourself.

You are funny. I am really liking the tree silhouette... I'm just not sure I want to go back to the drawing board, so to speak... I've a lot of side projects i've put on the back burner, so I feel like there's never enough time. But I think I will try something like that, when I have a bit of time, I am glad you suggested it.

You were feeling spiritual, huh? Sounds interesting. Speaking of Jeremiah... A verse that came to me today was Jeremiah 29:11.

Cool, you convinced me. I know bangs can take a while to grow out, but my hair does grow fast so... I just need to go to a decent hair stylist. (I could probably do it myself, but... maybe that's not such a good idea)

Yeah - I did Malcolm's WLM site. Thanks!! Since then he's made some changes to it, though... the menu is slightly different than how it looked originally (I did it in flash) and he added all the facebook stuff to it.

You mean you think I should add the previous version of my site to the work? I was thinking of doing that. Thanks for reminding me. There were a couple other website gigs I did that couldn't put in the portfolio for one reason or another. So it's pretty small right now. But I have a couple projects in the works now.

    thanks again!

Do NOT under any circumstances cut your own bangs or have a friend who isn't a hairstylist do it. Trust me.
