I only knew 'sundown' I think from gordon lightfoot although he was in my day. nice add. I might go drag some more of him. I am big on singer-songwriters anyway and had forgotten about him after all these years.

apples grow puts me in mind of irish trad. I have some like that various artists similar sound. I like it and hadn't heard of it, so very nice!

the connection would prob be that many around tennesse and w virginia yada came from irish immigrant stock and that kind of bluegrass stuff grew out of irish trad.

I liked your friends "Nixon Head", nb. If I ever make it up that way, we'll club for them and dance. Plus, I like catching the up and coming. Pot found me Billy Talent before the rest of the U.S. was really in on it. I knew the first time I heard them they were destined for greatness, like the Fratellis which I stumbled into early also, later.

aw yeah, I knew the celtic new age stuff, I have some of this band, can't think of name offhand, but somewhere in my music stash. on this now and enjoying it again. been quite a while since I was on about irish generally and that was when I was at listening to this kind of music a lot. great song.

ah name is on there, I don't have promontory - will have to check name of some similar I do have to tell you, laterz. my CDs are all over.
