    Welcome, Doctor! Don't suck... :|

Well, I'm sure my fellow Dr. Who fans know that the new season starts Saturday. I've heard great things about the new Doctor in reviews and such, but not having seen it; I can't make an educated judgement. (I doubt they would say that it was bad...)

All I can say is... Doctor, don't suck!

I thought the new guy looked like an inbred accident conceived via Flock of Seagulls after-show party... but everybody who's seen the new episode says he's freaking great. Without exception.

Tennant will be a hard act to follow. He was a bit over-the-top at times, but only second to Tom Baker when it comes to being an "iconic Doctor." New guy's got his hands full, but I'll try my best to watch with an open mind.

I agree about his looks. And I've heard great things about this Doctor, too! I'm hearing that he's more my speed, personality-wise. I can't wait until Sat!

I know a guy from the UK that lives here. His family sends him recordings of the episodes after they air there. Anyway, I saw the first episode with the new doctor this past weekend.
I like him, and I definitely like his new assistant. They really did a good job this time of illustrating how regeneration for the doctor changes absolutely everything.
    Fish sticks and custard though...yuck.

I checked it out last weekend-ish after obtaining the episode through, uh, alternative methods.
I think the new Doctor is going to do well - a little rough around the edges but I think it won't take him long to grow into the part. The new companion is kinda hot but other than that not sure what I think yet.

I was a little annoyed though at how they seemed to change a bunch of things just for the sake of changing them. And the new title sequence is horrid

I liked the "tunnel" aspect of the new opener, but yeah -- probably the weakest part of the show.

Really, really liked the new Doctor. The only other Doc I've taken to as quickly and enthusiastically is Four -- though I liked both Eight and Ten from the start, as well.

Pond has the potential to be a great companion, too!

I was very impressed. The title sequence was pretty weak, but I think Matt Smith made up for that. The part at the end when he introduced himself to the giant eyeball monster by stepping through the graphic of the other doctors and then telling them to basically GTFO was pretty smooth.

I saw the second episode last week, and at the end they showed previews of scenes from the rest of the season.
It looks like the new doctor may work out. He seems to be more in the Douglas Adams tradition of goofy than the previous melodramatic doctors.

I have to admit this had me chuckling all weekend long.

Glad to hear the good reviews, though!

I haven't watched it yet, almost don't want too.

I recorded the marathon and was up to two am last night watching David Tennant as Doctor Who one last time, I am gonna miss him. Hope for the best from the new guy.
