    OK. Thanks. When I was a bachelor I just sliced cold boiled potatoes, fried them up in a skillet and called that hashbrowns. What did I know?

    That must be nice. I either get nothing said or complaints if they don't like it dinner. You'd think my kitchen was a restaurant and I got the order wrong the way they sometimes carry on. I often think I should send them to my sisters house for a week. She doesn't cook, but just heats up pre packaged food. Maybe then they'd appreciate the work I do.

    I appreciate what others do for me and am not shy about expressing it. That's the sort of fellow I am and the type of relationship we have. I understand both the labor and the heart she puts into feeding us that wide variety of nutritious meals. And she does it because that's the sort of person she is and that's one way she expresses her appreciation for everything I do, and am.

    My wife has never had to open a door for herself when we're together - car, truck, house, any door - for almost 30 years now. That's my job, as I learned from my grandfather. Being a gentleman seemed like the right thing when I was a young man and nothing since then has caused me to change my mind on that.

    I rarely hear "well done". Last time hubby held the door for me was 19 years ago when I was pregnant and he was afraid I'd slip in the snow. Your wife is lucky.

    She didn't marry me for my good looks.

    Dinner last night was a simple ham sandwich, sweet potato chips, salad w/avocado and an apple.

    Meatloaf, rice and salad for them. Chicken livers in brown gravy over noodles for me,just like grandma taught me to make it.

    My father and sister used to fry up chicken innards for breakfast. I never saw the attraction.

    I don't know that I would eat it for breakfast. The liver isn't as strong tasting as cow liver but it's still pretty strong. I try only to get the livers instead of gizzards. The gizzards had some rubbery bits I don't like. Tasty stuff though and if you have leftovers they are better on day two or three then on day one. Daughter graduates tonight so it's quick leftovers and chocolate cake tonight.

    If you don't mind "rubbery" food, try chicken feet, like at a Chinese restaurant. They taste like however the chicken was prepared, but they're very rubbery eating. Personally, I don't like any rubbery food, from jello to squid.

    Pass my kudos on to your daughter. Will she remain a student for a while or start a career?

    quick and lite today, Strawberry cucumber sandwiches, tomato olive salad, Sausage bean soup and chocolate cake with vanilla frosting.

    I can't think of anything I'd like more right now than sausage bean soup, and I just had dinner...

    ... which was leftover art. lasagna, salad and pear. Oddly, the lasagna wasn't as good reheated as it was that first day. I'm not sure that's ever happened before.

    Roasted rosemary & butter whole chicken, spaghetti squash, mixed greens. Roast chicken has to be the easiest thing ever to cook.

    Swordfish/vegetable curry over quinoa pasta, sliced cucumber, salad, and for dessert a custard concoction of blueberry, pear, pineapple and banana with a coconut icing.

    Roast pork tenderloin, boiled potatoes w/sour cream, broccoli, salad, and our first taste of this year's apricots. We got a lot this time after a couple of lean years.

    lamb (as almost always) chops and I think I'll bake them tonight with tomato and onions with some Italian herbs and some simple butter mash on the side and whatever variety of greens I russle up
