I only occasionally read fiction. Although an avid reader (sometimes two books at a a time)...I read mostly non-fiction, history and the like most often.
Currently reading Death in Ancient Rome.
The last fiction I have read has been Shaara's WWII historical fiction trilogy...The Rising Tide, The Steel Wave and No Less Than Victory.
The last true fiction was The Shack.
Reading is for people who are to dumb to watch television..

I don't read much because I always fall asleep after two pages. BUT the books (that I can remember) that I'm reading currently.
Interview with a Vampire (reading upon the insistence of a friend)
Alchemist's Apprentice by Walter Moer (I love Moer but they close to being kid books)
Tuesday Next (or something like that--a scifi something? Haven't gotten into it yet)
a few physics/optics books that bore the most rabid readers
Galileo's Daughter--just started
I just listened to a few audio books for my LONG drives:
HP 6 and 7
Lost Symbol and Angels and Demons (Brown--bleh, terrible writing!)
Change your brain, Change your Life (self help mumbo jumbo with enough physiology to be tolerable)
next up is some Edgar Allen Poe, Agatha Christie
I mostly read science mags like American Scientist, or National Geographic or such. My time allotment for reading is fairly pathetic.
The Stand by Stephen King.

the brief and wondrous life of oscar wao - junot diaz (tracing 3 generations of one family and how Trujillo in the dominican republic caused their downfall. i nearly cried during it at lunchtime today)
at the weekend, i finished "indignation" by philip roth. he is an author i really like. this book was very good. it's about this guy, Marcus Messner who in order to get away from his father who has suddenly become overprotective decides to go to college at Winesburg in Ohio, transfering from Robert Treat in New Jersey.

Ewwwwww....One does not get the Leonardo Decaprio attraction.
He's creepy, just like all those other actors who look like boys instead of Manly Men.
