Yep. It was surprisingly good actually. Kinda like a wine cooler, but good-ish, especially on a hot day.

EE can be a beer snob all he likes, but if the beer is genuinely enjoyable, who cares who made it.

So have you ever called a beer store to see if a beer is in? I just called to see if a certain Octoberfest that my wife likes is in. It arrived today.

there aren't many arizona breweries, but I have certainly called liquor stores to see if they carry something. mainly because the valley is pretty spread out and so are my preferred liquor stores. if I want beer it's 1-2 hours of my day to get it......sometimes more.

I can't do AB anymore. Too much Chinook hops throughout, tastes soapy on my palate.

Soapy? Did you remember to rinse the glass when you were cleaning it?

yes, it's a flavor of chinook hops that I'm more sensitive to. It's a bittering hop, but some breweries use it as flavoring as well because it's got a higher alpha acid percentage than some others. with the hop shortage I've been seeing more and more of this. There's a few others, like Victory's Hop Devil, that I can't drink anymore because it's all I can taste. But that means more for you!

I'm starting to think there needs to be a beer social group on DA. much like my league of equal opportunity haters but with beer instead of the hate.

somehow that sounds terribly wrong but I know what you mean. I need to try brewing. Betty suggested that I give it a go but I dunno. sounds like it can get expensive rather quickly.

how expensive really? I think about it like this, I would probably have a blast doing it, but will it save me any money at the same time. my beer budget is about $100-150/month. Mostly consisting of things like Lost Abbey and Ommegang so it's not as much beer as it sounds. I have cheaper beer for my breakfast.
