Yep, that's right.
Doc's been suspecting it from day one, and when I went in with my concerns, my description of my symptoms was the final nail in the coffin. Plus my family history with bipolar helped to seal that deal too.
So yeah, I am bipolar. Sad that it took twenty years to realize what I have been suffering for the past decade or so.

That last line makes no sense in my post.
Should be "suffering most heavily for the past decade."

And thank you Anrora. I really do appreciate it. It's good to finally be able to have a doctor supporting the explanation that I am crazy.

But I want to be able to say that I am crazy. It's so much more fun.

But yeah, it's definitely something I can manage with the proper medication.

Send her to America and come with her. See the sights. Enjoy yourself. I'll take you around DC, if you haven't already been. You'll get to be around her, and she'll get to be out of the house. Everybody wins.

After San Francisco. See, I talked to my doctor about it. She said that if the medication stops me from going one way or the other too wildly and that I function normally, then no problem.

Given that you are 19, how were the doctors supposed to diagnose your condition in utero?

I do hope your treatment works, kiddo.

Boe, did you have difficulty staying inside the lines as a child?
Because you really suck at following directions, even if they are your own.

Don't answer that. Just stay out of my journal. Remember our little agreement? You stay out of mine, I stay out of yours.

I never made any such agreement. But if it gives you comfort to think that we did, go ahead and continue to believe it.

Of course you can say your crazy now!!! As my sister-in-law so elliquettely put it, "...and I have the paperwork to prove it!!!"

Apparently it's a popular line. Half the people online on my buddy lists have already IMed me. Including some of my clinically crazy friends who have congratulated me on entering the fold.

Boe, we've honored requests in the past by people that don't want specific members posting in their journals. If he asks you to avoid this forum, please do so.

Knowing what the problem is, is most of the battle. At least you're no longer left guessing.

Here's to your recovery! *clink*

Someone very close to me is bipolar, drugs work. :) ... and it’s a bitch of a disease w/o medication … I’ve seen the medicated / non-medicated sides, medicine is good :)

I'm glad you know what you are dealing with, its better to know you are bipolar then to not know. :)

If you need help finding help, let me know bro. :nice:

Now I am going to toast to my newfound discovery with a gin martini without the vermouth and olives (cause I don't have any).
