was washing the wife's car, and the fukin paint ont he bumper started peeling!!!!!!!! WTF? I knew ford had crappy paint, but damn!! This car is just over a year old, and has already had the roof repainted. Now, I am going to have to take it in to get the front bumper painted! Oh, and the hood has a peel spot too, might as well let them paint that while they are at it.

seriously makes me want to get rid of the car and buy my wife a SuperDuty Truck like she wanted in the first place!!!

I'm another who is not a big fan of Ford's paint. My mustang needs a repaint pretty bad, but I can't afford to do it right, and I don't want the clowns at Maaco to screw it up worse.

is this something that would be covered under warranty?

I would think that they should repaint the whole thing, if you have already had to have the roof done as well, seems to me that it has just begun:mad:

Should be covered by warranty. Make em fix it!

I've been pretty lucky with the Fords I've owned, but have had a few friends who had problems with the paint.

Never had a problem with the Fords we've had...yet...

But my Dad leases Taurus', so those are only around for 3 years. My old 97 Taurus is near perfect (minus some shopping cart dings) and our told 89 Tempo we ditched a year or two back was also good...

A year into the stang, and it seems fine also (knocks on wood)

My paint is peeling off. It bubbled up like something was brewing and BOOM came off. I, too, am too broke for a really nice paint job, and I'm afraid to get a cheapy one.

My old 83's paint held up really well, my new 93 is repainted but all my friends paint seems to flake off to show the old orange peel under coat...

I got my 92 painted last year. everything was cool except it was starting to fade on the little part between the rear window and the side window ... and a little bit down on the same panel (kinda the top of the rear fender) near the trunk.

My '02 had rail dust off the showroom floor, took it back and they said they 'fixed' it. It rains I go to wash my car after and guess wht the flakes and chit are back. I fly back to my deal, go nuts and watch them take it to the body shop, buff and what not and then spray the protective coating I bought, but theyforgot to apply!

But black as a bitch to keep clean and looking nice.

the hood on my 86 has faded at the lines, and rusted a little bit. other parts have faded along a few curves here and there, but otherwise the paint has held up amiccably well.
