because the one I have on my new(ish) dell won't let me play titan quest or Diablo II or any other good game.

Well I went to put it in and there's no place to put it  The one I have is built in but for some reason they didn't put in a slot for another video card! :(

So am I gunna have to get a new motherboard or what? :hmm: This sucks ass.

It's AGP, right?
There should be a little thingy on the AGP slot that allows the card to be released.
Your other problem might be that you got a PCI-E card for a mobo that doesn't support PCI-E.
What kind of video card did you get, and what kind of video card do you have?

the one I have is just built in I don't know what it is. It can't be removed. Usually when it can't be removed they have an additional place that you can put another video card, but for some reason it doesn't have one.

The one I have now is *looks up* Here's the full name PNY Verto GeForce 6200 AGP - graphics adapter - GF 6200 - 256 MB

nuthin' fancy I just needed something to play games with. :p

Uh, did you check to make sure that it's unscrewed and all that?
Do you have an AGP slot on your motherboard at all?
When you say your vid card is built in, do you mean there's a physical card that you can see taking up the AGP slot on your system, and it can't come out?
Or do you mean there's a monitor connector thingy sticking out from the motherboard itself?

From the sound of it, I'm guessing you just have a couple, probably four standard PCI slots in your system because your computer was never designed for anything more challenging than word processing and internet surfing. If that's the case, then you just wasted your money on a video card that ain't gonna do you a damn bit of good, so you should go ahead and return it for a pci-compatible card, since those can still handle Diablo II and all that jazz.

The video card is attached to the mother board and can not be removed. Usually this is okay, even good. BUT for some reason unknown to me there is no slot to put a DIFFERENT video card in. I can not take the one that is currently in it out and I can not add a new one.

I think I'm just going to have to buy a different motherboard. I can swap with one of the other computers here I guess. =\
