Last wednesday was my last day at my old job, I've worked about 59 hours in the 5 days since then and have made pretty good money doing it. Unfortunately this kind of work isn't guaranteed and there could be stretches of time where I can't find work. I'm going to give it a shot though and see if I can make things happen enough for me to pay my bills.

It's a pretty big change, I'm used to working 8-9 hours mon-fri with a few days off here and there for three day weekends. Now it looks like I'll be working 10-15 hour days when I can with a good number of days off (whether I want them or not). It's going to be odd adjusting to a new lifestyle, I think it may end up affecting my social life as I've already had to turn down several things with friends because of early call times.

I'm nervous, but over-all excited about the situation. I'm ready for a new chapter in my life, things were getting pretty stagnant.

If anyone knows of any production/concert work in L.A., hook a brutha up. :p

What type of new work have you gotten into?

The last 10 days have been concert and commercial production. Faith Hill/Tim McGraw and Johnson & Johnson respectively.

If by "make it" you mean "break up," then yes.
I had a dream about you, Jed.
Was it sexy? :hiya:

Confusing. You were making up "Thank You" cards instead of playing a computer game with me. You were gluing little metallic roses onto the cards.

That makes no sense.

Tell me about it! We were supposed to play BF2! Not only that - it was a VIRTUAL version of the game, so we would have been in it.

I know all about woking on an off and about working crazy hours, my bf's working in the entertainment. Really hectic and it messes up your social life, love life, I can go on and on. But if you love it... you do it!

Break a leg, igo!

Try working from mid-afternoon till morning (as in after sunrise) six to seven days a week. That kills your social life. If you want to do stuff, go ahead and do it, just be prepared to sacrifice sleep for it. To be honest, though, you'll probably get burned out from the long hours followed by suddenly doing nothing. Takes a toll on your body almost as bad as working incredibly long hours with no break at all. From my own personal experience, I suggest you try to find a much more steady job ASAP, unless this is a step closer to your desired goal, and there're no alternatives to getting there.
