Taking slow steps
we grip our card-board boats.
Candles, tucked inside
being lit
as we pass The Wiser Ones.

Holding our wishes in our hands,
we approach the moon-lit lake.
And in that moment we're all
simply children
daring to dream.

The flames dance
illuminating tiny faces
eyes wide with wonder.
We send our hopes
out to sea
with nothing but
faith
they will be heard.

Hundreds of wishes
light up
this lake of wonders.
And hundreds of
children's hopeful smiles
light up the world.
