And I thought that SPORTS STADIUMS and CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL BOWLS that had SPONSOR NAMES festooned on them was BAD ENOUGH! (Link Courtesy USA Today) (http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2006-07-27-naming-rights_x.htm)
:eek2:
For companies, "it's the best marketing platform available".
Okay, first it was sports stadiums & championship bowls....then it was police ars & school buses.....and now.....this????
What's NEXT? Tattoos on the forehead or whatever? (Apparently it's been done once..)
Sad.

I'm gonna auction off the rights to name my bathroom!
"Excuse me, Jack, but where's the restroom?"
"Oh, you mean the Intel Core2 Natural Function Center? It's right through here..."

Hey, Reaganomics in action. This is what we voted for, more corporate concerns taking over government functions. This is what we want, right, less government oversight and more private-sector initiatives? That's whey all them states was red, isn't it?

This isn't a new thing.
Don't necessarily agree w/ it but atleast it benefits the schools...
And if a corp. is that desperate to get their name out there, who does it really hurt?
School gets some new computers, etc. and people coming to watch a game refer to the gym as the AAA Healthcare Gymnasium...
It's sad but not the end of the world...
