View Full Version : New pics of my v6 stang
LinzsYellowStang 06-03-2002, 09:46 PM Well, I was bored, and took some pics... what do you think? Its mostly of the back of the car, cuz I was gettin some pics of my brake light and bumper fill ins.http://www.mustangmods.com/publish/LinzsYellowStang/Linz7.jpg http://www.mustangmods.com/publish/LinzsYellowStang/Linz3.jpg http://www.mustangmods.com/publish/LinzsYellowStang/Linz2.jpg http://www.mustangmods.com/publish/LinzsYellowStang/Linz12.jpg http://www.mustangmods.com/publish/LinzsYellowStang/Linz10.jpg
Snouter 06-03-2002, 11:19 PM Nice garage! Nice Cobra! Nice lift!
The Mustang looks good. I see two tailpipes but only one muffler. I don't see Flowmaster stamped on the muffler. Mustangs like Flowmasters. ;) What is the exhaust setup?
Looking GOOD linds. Those reflective inserts are nice.
I like the MW inserts...but they are pretty low quality. I had some nicer ones put on that don't look like vinyl.
But the car looks damn fine.
LinzsYellowStang 06-04-2002, 06:45 AM I've got Bassani on my car. I perfer the sound to Flowmasters, plus Bassani is all stainless steel, so no rusting. And where I live, there is alot of rain/snow, so I bet they would rust pretty quickly. I do have a sound/movie of my exhaust on my car, if you e-mail me, I'll send it on over :D I got the bumper inserts from Bob White Decals... great price, and looks great!
Whitey 06-04-2002, 02:21 PM Nice Cobra.

GroverDill 06-04-2002, 05:37 PM nevermind.

I got a stock (mostley .... Valve covers have never been off) 5.0 (with 141k), wana race :) if you're stock too we can race for free if you want .... But I'll bring what ever you want to run for (best two out of three if we run for money ... in case one of us misses a gear on the first run :) )
I like the looks of your 'Stang, I think Yellow is fantastic on the 99+ Stangs. Who's Cobra is that? (is it a kit?)
ragtopjr 06-04-2002, 08:14 PM Linz sometimes it is better to just let a comment roll off of your back then to retort with a completly stupid comment such as you have:bs:
Your not talking to a bunch of rice owning kids that dont know any better:rolleyes:
I guess we will just wait while you show us your 13 second time slip;)
being a girl does not give you a reason to spout off such drivel, it just gives other women that actually know a little bit about cars a bad reputation.
If you like your V6, then be happy at that and most people will respect you for that, however once you start talking crap like you have saying that:

You have just put yourself in a league that many wanna be's and ricers have occupied before you.
I disagree that just because you are a female that you should be treated differently then if you had been a guy.
In that case there would have been a line up 3 miles long to chastize you for such a ridiculous statement
:topic:
Thanks for coming out:)

put your money where your mouth is, ill race you for sex:D
sawbones25 06-04-2002, 09:26 PM Hey, I'm not far from you Linz, I'll race ya.
Mine is not far from stock.
LinzsYellowStang 06-04-2002, 09:45 PM Look buddie, you dont know me, you cant come on here telling me what to say and not to say. I was at Masion Dixion Dragway in Hagerstown Md, lined up with an 88 5.0 vert, and beat him by .3 seconds. My proudest moment thank you.
Kudagra 06-04-2002, 09:53 PM That may all be true..but its not to bright to brag.
Im almost sure you would beat my POS 85 GT. A whopping 15.1 at hell I dont remember how fast.
Here...have a Zoloft.... :D
LinzsYellowStang 06-04-2002, 09:58 PM Check out car-stats.com
1990 Ford Mustang LX 5.0
6.4 0-60
14.9 1/4 mile Manual
Thats the stats for a brand new 1990 hard top 5.0... Im thinkin that the vert runs a little slower... plus his car is an 88. I dunno if they are different, but still probably around the same 1/4 mile time. My car runs 15.0's now pretty consistantly, if I dont accidentally miss a gear, which I tend to do when I get excited. I don't think that the fact that I am female means anything, and I have no idea why you brought that up, ragtopjr. I never thought anyone in here was a ricer or anything. In fact, I havent seen anyone else chastizing me for a comment I made. I've never retaliated at a comment made on these boards either. I was just making my comment in good fun, in which you could not see. :werd:
Kudagra 06-04-2002, 10:03 PM I think that time is off for the 90lx
Like I said..I did 15.1...hot day..car was runnin like crap, Tach didnt work so I didnt know where to shift...NO TRACTION...
YEE F'in HAW!
ragtopjr 06-04-2002, 10:26 PM Magazine racing is all well and good, but it certainly doesn't prove much. Your proudest moment is beating what is notoriously one of the heaviest, most flexible (as in chassis flex, and that's a bad thing) and therefore slowest Foxes, A GT convertible. On top of that, it was likely an AOD car with something like 2.73s. Not really much to brag about. If you're going to brag about cars you've beaten, at least make them something worthwhile.
how about a five speed notch?
Magazine tests aren't the most reliable and accurate. If you dig up multiple magazine articles on one particular model year car, you can see ETs ranging one full second!
Going around bragging about having a "bad ass toy" and having ppl find out it's a V6 Mustang that's basically stock save for a cute little third brakelight mod and some nifty lettering to make SURE ppl know that it's a Mustang is a bit misleading.
BTW, weren't you the girl that stopped in your lane at the track at Cyber Brawl because you red-lighted, saw the red light and thought it meant stop?
If you were a guy, ppl would be laying into you because you'd be some cocky dude with a V6. Instead, ppl are basically saying, "it's okay for you to shoot your mouth off about things cos your a girl, and at least she means well."
The "Daddy's Girl" license plate frame certainly doesn't help your credibility in this arena, either. What would ppl think of a "Mommy's Boy" plate frame on a V6 Mustang. Yeah, let's hear about equality for women.
If its any consolation most AOD GT verts are thrilled to see 15s, too.
If you don’t want to be criticized, then don’t post on public forums on the internet!!!
Just curious, do you know where the oil goes? Or is that the 710 cap!
BTW Your Daddy does have a nice car.
Linz if its any consolation my 84 ragtop vert ran a best of 14.5 with the stock motor.
beating one 5.0 in no way makes it a 5.0 beater (may have made you lucky once).
See you at CD 02, maybe you can amaze me there
Whitey 06-04-2002, 10:35 PM I'm sorry I said anything.
Young lady you are getting roasted by some of the crew.
And it's just the nicer ones coming out here.
Enjoy CD02.
LinzsYellowStang 06-04-2002, 10:40 PM Um, no I never red lighted sorry. Wrong person. I dont even know what cyber brawl is. And by the way, my car isnt stock. I dont just have a cute little mustang decal and exhaust. And yes, Im Daddy's girl. He got my car for me for my high school graduation. I wanted something more economical than my 96 cobra, which is now my road racing car. I like my v6 for its great insurance price, and its not a gas hog either. My v6 stang isnt my only bad ass toy, hun. Along with my 96 cobra, I do use my dad's shelby on a regular basis. I dont know how you can come in here telling me I dont know anything about cars, when I have posted mabey 3 times in this car forum. I dont even know you, or have ever seen you post. So lets leave it at that. Im tired of your sorry ass BS. Your not really getting anywhere.
ragtopjr 06-04-2002, 10:44 PM Sorry linz i may have had you wrong for cyberbrawl (not sure) but are you not the same linzs from the corral and stangnet?
well sweety if you have a 96 cobra then you would certainly not be bragging about the performace of a v6:eek:
if you are so knowledgable tell us some stories:rolleyes:
what diff does it make... she prob knows more about cars then I do... you see the pics, she has a LIFT in her garage!
Raptor, chill... you are jumping to WAY too many conclusions about a fellow member.. this ISN'T corral or SN.. we don't like flame wars and member bashing, and this is exactly how those things start.
dear God, I don't want to close a thread in the car forum

Brett,
You know I have a lot of respect for you. Even after our little tiff yesterday aftenoon ;)
I'm glad to know that you feel bad about this (and what caused it to begin with.)
Lindsey -
Word of advice - you don't know me either (we will probably meet at CD02, though - I'll be looking for your yellow stang :) ) Listen to ragtopjr (Ed). He is one of the most knowledgible people I know when it comes to our cars. He is also willing to share his knowledge - I speak from experience here.
Last year, we met at CD01 and when I asked him some newbie-type questions, he was very patient in his answers. He could have blown me off, but he didn't.
Dave88LX 06-05-2002, 09:27 AM Hmmm, guess my stuff still works here from WAY back when.
Anyways, I'm just gonna piggyback off of what Robin said about Ed. He's a cool **** :D :stupid:
I'm not going to say much else, except that I agree with what else was said. Nice car, glad you work on it, (I think), but it's not a 5.0 eater :p Although, I'm sure it'd run pretty close next to mine :D
buttmunch 06-05-2002, 09:36 AM looks like people are having fun with this one on another site

no, not all of us do.. please post the linky?
karma 06-05-2002, 11:38 AM I'm obviously missing some of the pieces of the puzzle, and that's all right with me. But, it looks as though someone is a being seen as a bit too cocky for what she really is and is being called on it. I'd have to agree with it to an extent.
Being overly confident about a vehicle that really is not the performance version is rather silly. Also, bragging that someone else purchased it for you is not a way of gaining credibility in this arena.
Having spent my days surrounded by men socially, I've noticed something. It's very easy to be thrown a bone for being a female and showing (or feigning) interest in a male-oriented arena like sports, cars, beer, whatever. However, when you don't stand up and act like one of the guys and stay on their level about the subject and play the gender card (Daddy's Girl), you won't be taken seriously and you wind up reinforcing their stereotypes about how women just can't compete equally in their areas.
You say you race a Cobra? Great. Talk about that. Did you buy it? Do you work on it? Not just detailing it, but really wrench? These are the things that will really impress the guys that are WORTH impressing. The ones that will simply hump your leg due to the fact that you have boobs and a car or two aren't the ones whose respect you'll cherish, that is, if you're really serious about the performance vehicle hobby.
Don't bother trying to brag about what your father owns. That's what he has earned. Bust your ass and tell us what you have earned. That is where your true character lies.
From what I've read of Miss Raven, her vehicle, and how she presents herself, you would probably do well to take a page or two from her book. She seems to be a very classy lady who also happens to be an automobile enthusiast.
Finally, if there's something going on on other sites, leave it there. Adding to the drama benefits no one, IMO.

Good recommendation there karma.
But just to clarify. It's not drama --it's cruel. Plain & simple.
