I just saw one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

I was at a stop sign, nearly at my apartment, and as I stop at the intersection I see a blur of motion come into my field of vision and go speeding down the middle of the road. So strange is what I think I'm looking at that my brain takes a moment to register what it is.

I sat in my car and watched a man in a wheelchair zoom through the intersection at 15-20 miles per hour. But not just any wheelchair did this man sit in, oh no. He had somehow affixed training wheels to the wheelchair for stability, and sailed through the crossroads wearing a helmet and elbow & knee pads.

I saw a guy like that here in Austin...

.. i knew a kid that went to my junior high that did that... then in the 10th grade they told us in a school wide announcement that he had been hit by a car and died... hmm ya know maybe it's not such a good idea for wheelchairs to try to hold their own in traffic against cars.. go figure :shrug:

My Mom,who is the utter antithesis of PC-said-"watch out for those guys with the handicapped stickers-you KNOW how they got that way" I guess reckless driving is what she meant...
