Something that I have always wanted to have fellow cinema mavens take into consideration for Some Time Now...

When DOROTHY kills The WICKED WITCH Of The EAST, she gets kudos, accollades and such from the various denizens of MunchkinLand

Many people mistakenly sing the lyrics to one song as: "We are the Lollipop Kids"..

When it IS in fact: "We are the Lollipop GUILD!"

Remember, the Munchkins WERE/ARE dwarf-statured ADULTS....NOT "youths"..:hmm:

And as an aside, when The WICKED WITCH Of The WEST's soldiers march in that STELLAR segment of the film....the lyrics to that ditty are:

"Oh, we love....The OLD one!"

Just thought y'ought to KNOW!:)

I thought it was "Oh we loathe...the old one"

Their apparent jubilation over their being freed from her employ notwithstanding, it might be a tad insubordinate, IMO, for them to chant "loathe" as opposed to "love" in their march dirge whilst still under servitude to said witch....

Especially since such transgression could very well endanger their lives.....what with their being mere mortal whatevers in the employ of a supernatural entity......... :hmm:

There are many alleged lyrics to the "Winkie Chant" performed by the Witch's guards, including "All we own, we owe her", "Oh we love the old one", and "Oh we loathe the old one". But the correct version, seen in the films screenplay is "O-Ee-Yah! Eoh-Ah!" and any other interpretations are simply the result of the listener's mind treating the chant as an audio ink blot

Looks like we're both wrong :(

O-Ee-Yah! Eoh-Ah!

Looks like we're both wrong :(

Ya mean that MY original assumption *WAS* CORRECT?

After ALL THESE YEARS??????????

When I was a kid I just mouthed along:

O-EE-YO! YO-OH!

Sometimes, ya just NEVER KNOW....

You're kidding? That's what they're saying as they march? I'd never have figured it was anything but what the last poster said: O-EE-YO, blah blah, blah blah. Interesting!
