Pupil glued inspector to seat in class

By John Roberts

A Government inspector was left glued to a seat while monitoring a lesson at a failing secondary school criticised by a watchdog for the behaviour of some of its pupils.

The female inspector sat on a stool which had been smeared with glue during a technology lesson at Wyke Manor School, which has been in special measures since 2004.

Today, the school's head teacher Dwayne Saxton said the culprit was identified within half an hour of the incident and had been disciplined.

However, he refused to say how old the pupil was or what disciplinary action was taken.

The incident happened last month during an HMI School Monitoring visit at the school.

The inspection report, which has now been published by schools' watchdog Ofsted, highlights concerns that the school is still failing to provide an acceptable standard of education and that the attitude and behaviour of some pupils is "not as good as they should be".

I wanna shake the kid(s) who did this by the hand(s). :D
