View Full Version : New James Bond Move... Chatters 05-26-2006, 10:26 AM Anyone as excited as I am about Casino Royale? Comes out in November...only 6 more months :) vindex 05-26-2006, 11:38 AM i think it looks like it will be good. daniel craig has the right look. brosnan just didn't have it. the only problem with craig is he's apparently yet another movie star that can't help but say stupid things publicly: Daniel Craig will have a problem playing the new James Bond - because he hates guns. The actor will wield 007's famous Walther PPK in the movie Casino Royale. But he revealed in OK! magazine: "I hate handguns. Handguns are used to shoot people and as long as they are around, people will shoot each other. "That's a simple fact. I've seen a bullet wound and it was a mess. It was on a shoot and it scared me. Bullets have a nasty habit of finding their target and that's what's scary about them." http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/showbiz/articles/20728233?source=PA&ct=5 what a f**king genius. daniel craig lives in a world where crazed bullets speed around with minds of their own, searching for targets to terrorize, wound and kill. i hope a bullet wound makes a mess...that's the point. and he 'was scared'???? can it pansy, and just say your lines. the real irony here is daniel craig's recent movie catalogue: Munich (2005) .... Steve Layer Cake (2004) .... XXXX Road to Perdition (2002) .... Connor Rooney Lara Croft: Tomb Raider(2001).... Alex west all of these movies featured craig handling firearms, and using them to kill or wound others....most notably in munich. actors could make it so much easier to watch their movies if they just didn't talk/give interviews. with that said, the new bond movie looks classy. Bogey 05-26-2006, 12:01 PM I've only seen previews, but I agree with you, Vindex, that Daniel Craig has "the right look," this despite critical reviews that disagree. Seems that many cannot accept a Blonde Bond. He looks smart and rugged. Brosnan always looked too frail to be Bond. No One will ever be Connery Anyway, whatever Craig thinks of anything is probably largely shaped by his Hollywood Peers. If you were in Hollywood, hanging out with beautiful lib-chix sipping watermelon martinis, would you say you just loved the kick of a 45 Magnum? Even Eastwood wouldn't admit it..... vindex 05-26-2006, 12:10 PM martin campbell is the director. he did goldeneye, which i don't remember(bond movies have been forgettable for some time), and the rest of his resume seems rather spotty: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0132709/ the bond movies have just been silly for so long. i understand there is an element of humor to them, but it needs to be more understated, and i would like to see a 'good looking' film, instead of the special FX schlock that has been the hallmark of the bond movies at least since brosnan. Bogey 05-26-2006, 12:25 PM i would like to see a 'good looking' film, instead of the special FX schlock that has been the hallmark of the bond movies at least since brosnan. This could be said for about all movies. I'm hoping Casino Royal sticks to The Story....Bond films....the Connery Versions, were primarily about predictable characters, witty dialog amongst an intreging plot...and FYI, were all based on Casablanca...all the way to the kissing scene at the end.... Bogey was the Original Bond. vindex 05-26-2006, 12:33 PM This could be said for about all movies. Bogey was the Original Bond. that's the kind of clever self-promotion i like to see. why can't the stars of today take a lesson from you bogey? Chatters 05-26-2006, 12:34 PM Yeah I have seen some criticism about Craig but I think people are starting to warm up to him. I think it is time for change and I think he is a great candidate. Doen't bother me at all that he is blonde -- they have actually darkened his hair a bit. Have yall seen the website? Pretty cool if you haven't ... Bogey 05-26-2006, 12:43 PM that's the kind of clever self-promotion i like to see. why can't the stars of today take a lesson from you bogey? The audience couldn't keep up with the dialog and 12 year old girls never paid to go to Casablanca. Chatters 05-26-2006, 03:30 PM Awww look what I just found -- a fun poker game on the site. Enjoy... http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/casinoroyale/game/ Definitely will make my days go by quicker now :) Kraw 05-26-2006, 04:19 PM hell yeah :nice: Chatters 06-01-2006, 10:58 AM Casino Royale is a prequel to the other movies, right? I have not seen the originial one but I hear it was good -- just making sure that I have it straight. Shadoglare 06-01-2006, 07:03 PM i think it looks like it will be good. daniel craig has the right look. Hmmm.. and the main thing I was thinking during the preview was how much the new guy didn't look like a James Bond... Chatters 06-08-2006, 02:50 PM Really? I think there is really a right way for Bond to look -- I was little hestitant at first but after seeing the trailer, I think he fits the role perfectly and will do a fine job. ConfuserData 12-19-2006, 08:50 PM I haven't seen it yet, since I've been in the hospital getting my appendix removed. What's your excuse? Slide Show (http://www.maximonline.com/slideshows/index.aspx?imgCollectId=132&src=gx1103) of the Bond girls! Ursula Andress has always been my favorite. Even though she's a villan. http://www.becka-raja.at/novosti/data/upimages/ursula_andress.jpg Secret Agent Style (http://www.maximonline.com/articles/index.aspx?a_id=7368&src=gx1128) http://www.maximonline.com/articles/images/7368/3.jpg Here's a list of Casino Royale's Bond accessories. Made for or inspired by the movie. zipper99 12-20-2006, 12:13 PM The closest in both looks and a ruthless style (based on the books) was Timothy Dalton. Shame he didn't do more. |
