Its been a ****ing fantastic year for music/live shows for me. I cannot get over it. I mean, really just thinking from March on, I have seen and heard so much and found so many new bands...
I got to see Kill Radio and Ozma, whom I hadnt' seen in forever, the latter having been broken up for a few years and just recently reuniting.
I got to go to the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage festival where I got to see Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springstein, Galactic, Etta James, Juvenile, Herbie Hancock, Yerba Buena, Bonerama...and so many others.
I just recently saw The Brazilian Girls.
I got tickets for Thievery Corporation and The Flaming Lips.
I got tickets for Massive Attack.
I got tickets for Bitter:sweet
I am going to catch Ozma again this summer I am sure.
Now if only The Rapture, The Cure, and The Faint went on tour.
I've also discovered so many new/old bands. The Faint. Radio 4. Morcheeba. Mo'Horizons. Bitter:sweet. Galactic. I feel so fortunate to be able to nurture this side of me in a way I never really had. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love rock, but rock can be so stale, especially listening to the radio (even the indie stations).
It has been great being able to overfill this passion of mine and really get the most out of it.
