A city the size of New York City? And you know the homes and apartments with the illegals arent marked with an x. and they're not all gathered in one nice little group-people assume a massive police action like this isnt going to effect them.
Do you really think the anti Jewish pogroms in Europe didnt affect the Gentiles?

And they'll all have kids born here, and special circumstances boo hoo, and they won't want to leave <insert violin music>. Yeah, it probably couldn't be done without breaking a lot of eggs.

That last sentence was my point-I'm not saying do nothing, actually hadit's proposal to introduce Mexico to capitallism sounds good-but something positive that at least minimizes the angiush for people who don't deserve it...

Being illegal is really just a state of mind... But there we go again, Inca, Pueblo, Chsrokee, Lacota, all those tribes found themselves disowned and trapped inside national borders. And not even one line about it in the darn constitution. Thats the main problem here - those people were here before the borders were drawn, they are on no side in conflicts, but their own.
And now to something completelly different: a kid with a duck =>

An interesting point...

11,000,000 is just a number.

I'm trying to point out how preposterous and expensive an undertaking like deporting the illegals would be...

Actually, it's more like interest that compounds itself every 9 months.

We wouln't have to deport them if we finally started following the laws and prosecuted those that hire them. If they are cut off from jobs and welfare they would probably go back on their own.

that was witty

Actually is a societal status. You're eather legally present in America or you're not. There's no gray area in this law.

Does this mean you're paying for their deportation? :p

Actually, I'm begrudgingly starting to accept the fact that there is no practical way that they could be rounded it up and deported, those 11 million. Maybe if we got some old German, Nazi consultants in on it?

By God, if we give them this opportunity they had better damn well earn it and appreciate it. They should be forced to sign a damn contract: I will pay a fine, I will become an American citizen etc., blah, blah.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch we seal that damn border tight. :nonono:
