View Full Version : Homo history to be made into school curriculum
thumper 04-07-2006, 01:41 PM A bill requiring students to learn about the contributions homosexuals have made to society and that could remove gender-specific terms including "mom" and "dad" from textbooks is making progress in California.
The state's Senate Judiciary Committee has approved SB 1437, which would mandate grades 1-12 buy books "accurately'' portraying "the sexual diversity of our society.'' It also requires students hear history lessons on "the contributions of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender to the economic, political, and social development of California and the United States of America.''http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=49638
All hail the god of Diversity!

*snicker*
But on-topic, thumper, can you provide a link to an OFFICIAL government source that shows what and where this bill is?

you mean to the forced acceptance of the above mentioned? i can understand spending time talking about the contributions of different ethnicities found in american history, but homosexuality is a lifestyle..a choice. should we start mandating the teaching of the contributions of skateboarders, stamp collectors, people that like 80s music, tupper ware party organizers etc.? all these groups of people are a part of a distinct sub-culture in america, and all are part of a minority of the population, just as homosexuals are. what a waste of time. i'd like to think level heads will prevail, and the bill will get crapped on, but it is california...there's something in the water there.
GROFF200 04-07-2006, 05:34 PM Gee, you really think people choose to be gay? I'm going to assume those here who don't like gays are heterosexual.
So, do you prefer fat women or skinny women? And why did you make that "choice"?
Also, just a little history lesson for you guys...ancient cultures like Rome and Japan made no distinction between heterosexuality and homosexuality. For them it wasn't an issue.
Meaning, this whole distinction between sexual preference and what is acceptable is a modern invention and has nothing to do with the natural state of humanity or society.
Besides, if you decided to not teach contributions of gay people through history you might as well just not teach history. Thanks to the fact the ancient world didn't make distinctions, most of history is full of bisexuals and homosexuals.

payback.
Why dont conservatives realize that the things that make us such an "advanced" society are the things that liberals fought for and conservatives were against?
The payback is that we will be a more advanced society in the long run.
Do you think that ~50 Years ago when they said they were going to start talking about Black people in the history books that the convservatives liked the idea? Of course not, they thought it was just liberals doing their liberal thing, and that that was a bad thing. And yet right now we recognize that our history should be told regardless of the historymakers skin color.
Do you think that when they started talking about a women's right to vote that conservatives felt this was the right thing to be teaching in schools? To teach women that they have rights? Of course not, because it went against conservative views. And yet if women didnt have the vote, or the place in society that they have now, would be the awesome country we are today?
Women in American have such an exalted place in life compared to the women of the rest of the world.
Liberalism is what separates stagnated countries from progressing, growing, advancing countries. We wouldnt be where we are now, w/out liberal movements!
Feenix566 04-07-2006, 05:54 PM Liberalism is what separates stagnated countries from progressing, growing, advancing countries. We wouldnt be where we are now, w/out liberal movements!
I'll agree with that as long as you limit "liberal movements" to those that promote acceptance.

turtle_o 04-07-2006, 06:10 PM I'll agree with that as long as you limit "liberal movements" to those that promote acceptance.
I just feel that a lot of the rights that I as a minority young woman has, are rights that conservatives felt I shouldnt have, and that liberals felt were important. (Because I'm a human being!)
BadNews88 04-07-2006, 06:19 PM Blame the ACLU for all this..
TheLateGreat 04-07-2006, 06:28 PM Why? Do they have anything at all to do with the case?
I think this idea is stupid as hell. I think kids should be taught what history is important, and if the history-maker happens to be black, great. And if he happens to be Buddhist, great. And if he happens to be gay, great. And if he happens to be a straight old Christian white man, great.
I also think that the folks who use an event like this to justify their hatred/disapproval/whatever of gays in general are stupid as hell. Some individuals who are militant about forcing others to accept their gayness are involved in this. So that's a reason to resent individuals who are militant about forcing others to accept their gayness. It's NOT a reason to resent gays. Groups aren't responsible for X happening. Individuals are. Get it through your thick ****ing skulls already, ****.

I don't know 04-07-2006, 07:00 PM Really can't say I see the big problem with the bill. Could someone spell it out?

the rest of your post was just rhetoric and therefore unworthy of response.

Dr.Doom 04-07-2006, 10:45 PM but homosexuality is a lifestyle..a choice.
For one think its NOT a choice? this is the most retarded statment ever made. Do you chose to be straight? How do you chose what turns you on? thats all in the brain you dont control that. Plus who the hell would chose to be gay?
for one i dont think you need to celebrate any sexuality. Why do people feel the need to announce what they are? Cant we just live life without special clubs. clans and cults?

exactly...so why the need to mandate highlighting their contributions?

that's a good question. which takes me back to my original point.....why then highlight the contributions of people from a certain sexual orientation? before you know it, we'll be highlighting the contributions of so many sub-cultures that we won't even be able to put the big picture together anymore.
Sinclair 04-08-2006, 12:00 AM the soviet union was pretty liberal :|
Not especially, no. The term "liberal" is misused, primarily in America. Sort of in Canada, but that's really because of a quirk of political history.
Liberal REALLY means in favour of free markets, and socially permissive. The Soviet Union was a command economy, for one thing. And I can't say how socially "free" it was...
The history of the [gay, GLBT, whatever] movement should be taught, because it's a social issue. It's a historical issue in the 20th century. Of course, this probably isn't going to be done right, like most history taught in schools isn't done right.

Oh nonsense. Our friendo Michael Savage tells us Liberalism is a mental illness. Yes, it was SWEATSHOP that built this great nation. And whats this about women voting? They should be greatful they are allowed to work outside the home! The US was a great country once, when we had Jim Crow in the south and we had children toiling in the mines! Sure people worked hard but a little hard work never hurt anyone. No, who need the welfare state. Just go out there and do a little honest work. And if you can't work don't expect me to feed you! And now the homos want to make our kids into homos with all this diversity stuff? No way! I say lets take the kids out of school altogether and make them work in factories for 12 hours.

Thats right ! You sure came a long way baby ! :eek3: You have been liberted from your children ,now that a stranger raises most of them . The fattest most spoiled and sickly kids ever who majority are illegitimte with sluts for mothers . You have been liberated from the respect and honor of most men . Mostly from true love, because most marriages go through divorce . You have been liberated from good health, since most of you are on prescribed drugs just to keep your sanity [ mostly due to above ] . You have been liberated to have more VD than any other geneation in history of USA . And are about to be liberated from your country and into serfdom . You allow your deserted children to be fed filth and lies so you can keep you ' liberty ' . This isn't liberty , it's the worst of bondage !
Thanks to the politics of fems, libs and other perverters of the truth your future is looking dim ! Keep leading the innocent into your pits of misery , someday you'll pay for every life you ruined with deceit .
If you ****ing mods want proof , read your news papers or CDC reports . You can't prove ' ME ' wrong, because I'm just the reporter of these sad facts .

(i happen to think they arent learning enough in general, but for some reason unbeknownst to me American parents feel their kids are learning enough in math and science.)
Jwreck- the things that were listed as rhetoric were NOT rhetoric, because I have NEVER heard another person say the things I posted. They came straight from my own and mind, and so they are a new revelation to me.
