This is a band I've talked about a few times here, but not in a while. Ozma had broken up about a year and a half ago, but recently got together again (with a new drummer) and played their first shows back this weekend. I was happy to have seen them last night at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood.

For those of you who don't know Ozma, they are an indie rock band, with leanings heavy on nerd rock. Lots of songs about the 80s, video games, and love. Think Weezer, old school, but a bit nerdier.

The night started off well enough, Corey came down to watch the show with me. He waited around while I finished work, we got a bite to eat, and then to the knitting factory. Its a pretty solid venue, a bit smaller than the sunset strip music venues, but overall, still enjoyable. The first opener, Satisfaction, was pretty good, the second, The Mae Shi sucked hard.

Ozma played a decent length set, like an hour thirty. I've not been to a show with that much energy in so long...it as even more than galatic at the hob, and that was off the hook. The energy, the crowd, the music, it was great. It reminded me a lot of their show at the Glass House, for their CD release party...that was probably the height of their popularity...

Only one song I really wanted to hear, I didn't get, appletrees, but they played the rest...

Can't wait for the next show...
