I had a rough week last week. No other way to paint it. Work was long, arduous, and otherwise all consuming. I felt like the whole week I was just dealing with other people's problems, and I wasn't able to move forward with any of my projects. It got especially hard, when I was directly dealing with ****ups from people I work with....

I needed a good weekend, no other way to shake it. I needed one of those weekends that leaves you relaxed, empowered, and just happy to be alive. I got precisely what I needed and wanted.

I am going to start my weekend with Tuesday, because, well, thats when I started needing it. I was going to meet Nathan after I left work 'early' and we were going to grab dinner and have beverages. It had already been a long week...my 'early' day ended up having me home around 8. We went to Akbars and got some scrumptious indian food and some great British Ales. We then went to my house and proceeded to drink a case of stellas and some rum and cokes with Mike OT. I love OT. We had good times talking about travel, women, Costa Rica, and how long is appropriate to not hookup with chicks. I apparently move too slow.

Wednesday it was a bit hard getting to work, but no worries, I got to stay until 10:30. I headed over to the boss's house and fixed his daughter and sons computers, but that wasn't until I was at the office until 9:30. They fed me and they are nice people, but I just wanted to go home.

Thursday started off eh. I was supposed to meet up with this girl Lex, whom I met via a friend, but she ended up flaking out at the last minute. She's a cool girl, so we'll see what happens...I was a bit bummed though, because the same time i got an email that Nisha's dad was in town Friday, so we'd need to cancel dinner. I was bummed, these two things I was looking forward to, both got canceled.

Thursday was a nice day, I just left the office, went to Ira's, hung out with him, corey, and Tasha and went in the spa. It was relaxing and good times. I also spoke with Nisha and she invited me to dinner with her Dad on Friday.

Awesome! I love her dad, and it had been forever since I had seen him. Me, her, her roommate, and another friend all got together. We had dinner at the Beverly Center and then went back to her place and then the Whisper Lounge at The Grove. Its an interesting scene, a bit more pompous than my tastes, but laid back and mostly chill, which was welcome. Also, the drinks come in buckets. I ordered a scotch on the rocks and it was the biggest beverage I've ever seen, much love. We had a few drinks and I talked a lot with Erin, Nisha's roommate. She's a cool girl. We talked about travel, music, TV, some basic life philosophies and just joked around. We got back to Nisha's place and talked some about school the education system, and common friends, and then I bounced, got home pretty late, and crashed hard. (I also booked my flight with Ira when I got home0

Saturday, I woke up to go have lunch and dinner with the family, which was pretty good. I enjoy spending time with them a lot more. Saturday night, I had made plans with Steph and Alia (big shout out for coming up) so I had to head back to LA. I asked Kim if she wanted to join us. We were going to have a low key night, just get dinner, maybe a few drinks, watch a DVD. It ended up being nothing of the sort. Avi ended up meeting us at dinner, but he was strictly on a liquid diet. Nathan, Cody, and Joe met us at my house. I think we had the makings for a party. All said in done, about 15 people rolled out, and much chaos ensued. It had been a while since I had hosted more than just a few people and definately a while since we drank in that much excess. Cody made some scrumptious mojitos, where we managed to finish off a handle in about an hour and then I finished off half of the bottle of wine. Much beer was exchanged, hookah was smoked, and somehow there exists video of me changing my shirt, and avi in my closet with me...I still haven't figured that out yet. All in all a good night.

Sunday was recover, clean, and errands. I got burritos with the boys at JBs and then I cleaned up pretty thoroughly, though it needs a once over still. I ran some errands, got a haircut, and then went to Ira's and met up with him and Tess. It was nice seeing both, I'd not seen Ira since Thursday and Tess since last week. I love seeing her, I wish we could spend more time together, but we're far away and both pretty busy. We spent a good three hours together, had dinner with his family and then I met up with Avi/Char, Mark/Tiffany and Nathan at Islands. We talked, they ate, and then we hung out at Avi's parentals. It was nice seeing Mark and Tiff, it had been a while.

All in all, it was a weekend that contained a bit of everything...family, friends, drinking, craziness, deep conversations, old friends, new friends, and just the entire gambit, it was great. I miss that. I miss being able to go from a deep philisophical conversation to being plain stupid drunk with people, its something my friends do well.

I just enjoyed spending significant quality time (all sorts of different) with so many different friends. It had been a while since I had a weekend like that. A few people were missing, as noticeable exceptions, but mostly distance kept them away. It is hard, sometimes, because there are people who I think about and miss that I don't see, for various reasons...but you can't dwell...thats just life.
