Personally, I think that the TOP WINNER was a MUCH DESERVED one! (Link Courtesy BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION) (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4771586.stm):nice:

As for ANG LEE, as Best Director? Yep, MUCH DESERVED, as well.. Never mind his current endeavour; Just seeing his STELLAR work in "CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON", "SENSE AND SENSIBILITY" and "The INCREDIBLE HULK" (Yes, I *HAVE* seen ALL THREE!) shows his FLAWLESS VERSATILITY..:nice:

"MARCH OF THE PENGUINS" at least DID get an OSCAR for Best Documentary..:nice:

"HUSTLE & FLOW"?? Best Song?? :P Let the records show that although I HATE and DESPISE that certain genre of recorded "entertainment" (I *REFUSE* to call it "music".. ), I *DID* see the film (For FREE at an invitational premeire, mind you, I would NOT have PAID to see it!) and it WAS a *VALID* glimpse of "how the other half lives"..

For the record, I *STILL* take umbrage that, in past days, GEMS such as "The BLUES BROTHERS", "BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD DO AMERICA", & "The SICILIAN" didn't get any OSCAR nods... (The latter film for...hottest nude babe in CINEMA HISTORY!(BARBARA SUKOWA):D

My Take On The Oscars: Frankly My Dear, I don't give a damn.

I haven't watched the Oscars in years. Most of the films are dismal and banal. I'd rather pour bleach in my eyes than endure hours of a tedious ego-fest.

The Incredible Hulk? That guy should be hung for directing that piece of crap.

I watch every year..... only now I've resigned myself to the fact that I shall never be there :( :nonono:

Oh well!

I thought they were mellow as hell! People seemed to be relaxed, and having fun. I thought Jon Stewart did great, but I might be a bit biased :p I didn't stay up for the whole thing, its past my bedtime :)

One thing I found odd was the level of star power..... I mean, why does Jessica Alba deserve to present an award??? You really need to be good and be somewhat respected if you're going to be on the stage

I forgot they were on. Tells you how much I care....

It's nice to see George Clooney win. He rules.

No doubt!!! So is Eliza Dushku, doesn't mean they deserve to be at the Oscars though

Poor Jon Stewart, I read some pretty scathing reviews :not:

well i didn't watch it so i can't really talk, but i'm not at all surprised that people didn't like Stewart. people are always resistant to change, and the different between Jon Stewart and Billy Crystal is like black and white.

I personally cant' stand Billy Crystal, and I'm a big fan of Jon Stewart.

Stewart isn't particularly funny in the context of the Daily Show, so stepping out into an arena with no footage of Bush and Cheney to laugh at, his lack of talent is even more obvious.

I disagree. I thought he was great on the Oscars. I mean, a few of his jokes fell flat, sure, but overall he was tasteful and funny. Loved the Scientology joke.

And the Daily Show makes me howl.....although I admit making fun of politicians is his forte...
