the place is called iidb.org and it was basically a leftist gatekeeper site where someone like cowpunk would fit right in. they argue for sport, or to be as 'anti-establishment' as possible like it was a pissing contest. here's a nice example.
In regards to Bush giving the ports to the arabs and giving no real reason...
I think that Bush does not want the United States to be racist with regard to who we let do business in our country. Singling out a moderate Arab country like this will (rightly) piss off millions and millions of Arabs. It is simply unfair and racist.
Tiffy, do you care if we are racists and commit racist policy decisions?
Who gives a **** what the "free republic" idiots have to say. Either this is right or wrong, and right now I see our nation acting like a bunch of racists. No one said shit when the UK ran these ports, and the UK probably has as many avowed Islamic radicals as the UAE does, or more.
Have any of you been to the UAE or Dubai? It's a relative paradise of secularism and happy people and commerce and hotels and beaches and high-tech companies and amusement parks... This policy is racist, in my opinion.http://www.iidb.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=155897
this is exactly why i regard all the 'isms' as red herrings or simply heresy words. the issue is port security, and with a sleight of hand known as 'racism', this moron forces the thread to go from something important to something that has no rhyme or reason, and minimizes the importance of national security, to some demented communist style self-denunciation meeting.
I endeavor to speak plainly. you'll never hear me complaining about sexism, racism, etc., but only consistency. it's as if by simply giving something a name, we can declare it sacred or profane based on nothing more than wordplay.
Islamophobe is sacred. so is 'anti-immigration'. it doesn't matter if they literally want to see infidel heads rolling in the streets, with these special suffixes and prefixes, we all must now be transfixed and shift the focus from cold hard reality to now defending these newfound ideals.
of course we know the flipside to this and i won't belabour the point.
just some chit i had to get off my chest :o i hate libruls
