Damnit. Line6 customer service was good in getting me a free part even after the warranty expired, but it still is not working properly. They are at a loss as to why it is not working and suggest a service center which are like rinky dink electronic stores a minimum hour's drive away. Might be cheaper to get a new Variax 300 or even abandon the whole idea of guitar modelling. It worked great while it lasted though.

There is a place in mid-town Manhattan that will give it a try if I am interested. $95/hour plus parts though.

guitar modeling has it's place.
I have one.
But I dont think I would use one live or on a final recording.

I use them for direct-in scratch tracks mostly.

a mic'd up tube amp just sounds more betterer to me.

Apparently some credit cards provide for automatic warranty extension. So I filed for a claim. According to the customer service clerk, I will get reimbursed for the repair bill. I will have to see it to believe it, but at least they did not outright reject the claim so far. :)
