Kinda FRIGHTENING.....the demise of, seemingly, one immediately after the other! (Link Courtesy USA Today) (http://usatoday.com/life/people/2006-02-20-cowsill-obit_x.htm)

They say these things DO come in THREES.....

If so, the survivng members of this family that was the real-life inspiration for teevee's PARTRIDGE FAMILY just MIGHT consider keeping the covers pulled over their collective heads for a few weeks...(months??):hmm:

*shudders at thought*

One could point to The Ramones as a notable and recent enough example of that, though. :hmm:

Rest in peace Bill.

The family actually had a very sad life, the father was an abusive man who beat the mother and physcially and psychologically abused his children.

The father also ripped his children off from the money they made during their hitmaking years and one of the sons [I think itwas Bill] was sent to Veitnam where he came back in one piece physcially but was never the same again.

And while not at the level of the Beatles or Beach Boys, they did make pretty good music [much ,muchbetter than the Partridge Family, that's for sure].

And some of them still do make pretty good music [check out Susuan Cowsill's indie album, one of the best albums of the last five years].

For all intents and purposes, The PARTRIDGE FAMILY....never existed in the first place.

Apart from the REAL musician who was DAVID CASSIDY, and bonafide vocalist in her own right, SHIRLEY JONES, all the other background vocals & instrumental contributions were provided by "behind-the-curtain" session players, who overdubbed for the other actors & actresses portraying the PARTRIDGE siblings..

And there ain't no EASTER BUNNY, either!:D
