I often wonder if it is always in the mind of haunted of course. :) i ask because there have been some strange goings on in my house since i moved in; sounds of footsteps without the use of actual feet, things falling from the cabinet, these sorts of things. while it's possible that the house is "settling" i can't imagine what is happening with things falling from counter tops to middle of kitchen floor or things falling from cabinets and such... maybe house is lopsided? : p seekerofvisions 02-20-2006, 10:38 PM no one believes in hauntings? no explanation for things falling about the house? perhaps house is lopsided. :eek7: Ponycar_302 02-20-2006, 10:48 PM No, I don't believe in hauntings. Bear Stories 02-20-2006, 11:09 PM Yes, I do. Years and years ago, I spent a summer on South Manitou Island. We stayed in this abandoned house and for two weeks I had the same terrible nightmare and I would wake up screaming, "she's shooting the kids, she's shooting the kids!" The house in which we were staying had been owned by a family and the husband/father had worked on the boats. One winter, the wife went a little nuts and shot the kids and then herself. Now, I didn't know this story and I didn't know these people, (but I can tell you what she was wearing when she shot those kids; it was a blue flowered house dress that zipped down the front.) For the rest of the summer, I slept in a tent in the backyard. loner 02-21-2006, 10:45 AM :) i ask because there have been some strange goings on in my house since i moved in; sounds of footsteps without the use of actual feet, things falling from the cabinet, these sorts of things. while it's possible that the house is "settling" i can't imagine what is happening with things falling from counter tops to middle of kitchen floor or things falling from cabinets and such... maybe house is lopsided? : p Yes I do strongly believe in the paranormal and especially in hauntings, although I have never experienced the paranormal before. Just search the internet; the information you will find regarding these investigations is incredible. Go at Dave Juliano's site www.theshadowlands.net/ghost and read some of their stuff, their articles. Also go to their message board and ask for help. Some people who have been living with ghosts for years are frequent posters over there and have a certain knowledge. Explain briefly your experiences to them and they will give you some handy advice. :) Feenix566 02-21-2006, 11:00 AM No, I don't believe in hauntings. I've never seen any evidence, and I've never even heard of anyone being able to reproduce any evidence they claim to have seen. Why would a ghost care what time of day it is? loner 02-23-2006, 07:39 AM You know, I've always wondered - why is it that hauntings supposedly happen more at night? Why would a ghost care what time of day it is? Because it's more quiet, and it's most likely that you will see one in the dark. Like light, it is more bright in the dark. Or so I've read anyway... SecretSamadhi 02-24-2006, 10:07 AM I do. The first house my parents bought was in Lexington, MA. It was an old farmhouse and they decided to fix it up. My sister was about 2 at this time, and my Mom was pregnant with me. They would hear loud noises and things banging around. The stranger thing was, whenever my parents got a babysitter, the thing went NUTS! They couldn't get a babysitter to stay! She would hear my sister crying and screaming bloody murder, and run up to find her sound asleep in her crib. The creepiest thing was, one day when my Mom was doing dishes, she saw what was behind all of that racket. She saw something moving out of the corner of her eye, and looked over to find a little boy looking at her. He moved out of the doorway and then reappeared in the space between her and the living room. My Mom is the most logical, straight- shooting person I know, so I know its true. She went down the historical society and did some research on the property and found that a family died in a fire back in the 1800's and they had a little boy. My Mom wrote the story on the wall and papered over it, neat huh? The ghost got really mad during the renovations, but pretty much went away after they were done  Von Apfelstrudel 02-24-2006, 10:49 AM no explanation for things falling about the house? Gravity ? Katalina 02-24-2006, 01:21 PM If I didn't hear little kids running back and forth and laughing in my best friend's attic one night, I would say no. Of course we thought that it had to be her kids, but they were asleep in the living room with us. Boy oh boy did we get goose bumps then and kind of laughed nervously. It could of been a bunch of critters, but I've never heard an animal laugh or be heavy enough to sound like 5 kids running back and forth 3 times. We never did go up to check. Would you? her sister lives there now and she says.. they hear them every night. seekerofvisions 02-24-2006, 02:09 PM Gravity ? i would be more compelled to agree with you, having an understanding of the great feat that is gravity, if the items falling weren't all on one side of the kitchen and falling out of insides of cabinets. besides, i believe it may just be chalked up to the possibility of a lopsided house. : | If I didn't hear little kids running back and forth and laughing in my best friend's attic one night, I would say no. I believe that we are souls, or else we wouldn't feel anger, sadness, excitement and so on. Feelings come from the soul I believe. And why do we die? What does happen exactly when we die? Our soul is no longer in our bodu - there is nobody in our body to control anymore. When my mother was dead and I was standing right next to her I couldn't feel her presence, because there was nobody in the body. What happens next though when your soul is no longer in your body is beyond me. But I don't think that all these millions and billions of people are crazy (like the two users in this thread). they are not just imaging things. And if you search the internet a bit you will find a lot of information, you will surprise yourself (i.e. site I posted above... first page from google). Some pictures and orb videos have been token, but that isn't actually considered as proof. It's just a matter if people believe it or not. I'm one of them lol Katalina 02-24-2006, 02:29 PM i would be more compelled to agree with you, having an understanding of the great feat that is gravity, if the items falling weren't all on one side of the kitchen and falling out of insides of cabinets. besides, i believe it may just be chalked up to the possibility of a lopsided house. : | i would check; my curiosity would get the better of me and i would just have to go have a look-see. Well then.. let's have a look-see when you COME TO SEE me. :) We've gone up there during the day..of course nothing was there in the sunlight. I just came across this article. http://www.ghosts-uk.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=72 It might be of interest to you. Criminal 02-28-2006, 09:18 AM My work place is haunted. Shadoglare 03-05-2006, 01:48 AM Saw a circular light dimmer switch turn itself off then back on. Let's see science explain that one. You mean you actually physically saw the switch move by iself, or the light in the room just turned off and on? 86Dude 03-09-2006, 04:09 PM Physically saw the light switch turn it self off, click, then back on click. The single most mind altering event of my life. Ema 03-09-2006, 06:20 PM I want to see a ghost!!! :( tkgirl 03-19-2006, 12:11 AM BOOO!!! Modette 03-20-2006, 08:52 PM Scary shit happening here and much like the above! Too tired to talk at the moment, but wil post tomorrow! I think I need an exorcist? Another night being kept awake for this bloody nusisance going on. DngrMse 03-21-2006, 09:00 AM such as things moving about the house without explanation? In my house: 1. The basement door tends to open by itself. 2. The temp knob on the oven changes. 3. My coffee maker will sometimes make cold pots of coffee. There's likely a rational explanation somewhere though. :nice: Modette 03-21-2006, 02:11 PM Well, I am back to tell you what's happened in my home! Same as you all with the footsteps that don't belong to anyone here, strange smells about the house, loud bangs that keep waking me up at night with no apparent source, electrical goods keep breaking down, youngest child keeps waking up saying he's seeing someone in my room, people who visit keep telling me they feel a tad uncomfortable but can't put thier finger on why plus many more! So tired from it all and don't know what to do? Starr 03-21-2006, 04:47 PM Yes I do, I think those things do exsist. jojo 03-21-2006, 04:56 PM :) i ask because there have been some strange goings on in my house since i moved in; sounds of footsteps without the use of actual feet, things falling from the cabinet, these sorts of things. while it's possible that the house is "settling" i can't imagine what is happening with things falling from counter tops to middle of kitchen floor or things falling from cabinets and such... maybe house is lopsided? : p I once saw Jesus at the top of the stairway at my parents house. He was all blue. Once I had a dream that my Dad was standing outside our screen door when we lived in Sacramento wearing my UCONN Huskies sweatshirt and not saying a word. Do you have deja vus? Modette 03-21-2006, 05:05 PM Yeh, have deja vus quite often, especially about places I have never been before and just seem to know where everything is. Modette 03-21-2006, 05:07 PM Three very ill children in my house tonight aswell as the goings on! Sleep depravations surely is a killer! |
