I'm looking into getting a flat screen tv. I found a nice looking 32" at Best Buy for just under a grand and it would look great on my wall. I want to get rid of the death trap I call an entertainment center(long story). Thing is, it's made by Westinghouse. So, Westinghouse - crap or ok?

I'm going with a 32" Panasonic thanks to Consumer Reports. They don't cost that much more than most other 30 to 32's and have a very good rating(#2 next to Sony).

We were going to buy a Sony Aquos, but instead went with a Phillips, (which we got a wicked deal on).

I am very pleased. :)I looked at deals, and well priced tv's. I did some research and found when it comes to LCD tv's you really do get what you pay for. Panasonic has a good record for longevity. I don't want to spend this kind of money, then in a year or so have a heavy blank picture frame on the wall.

True enough...but we bought it through a dealer who's a friend. If we have any trouble or doubts, we give it back & he puts $500 towards the Aquos we wanted. It's a win-win deal. :D

IMO, Sharp and SOny make the best LCD's.

Don't you hate when people say shit like that? I'm like no....I just happen to manage the money I do have fairly well and have built up savings so if I do, on very small occasions, want to buy something nice, I can. :)

I have the Westinghouse, it is an AWESOME TV. We have a 32" Aquos at the office and honestly, save some of the 'additional features' I like the Westy better. I think the picture quality is on par/better, the look is better, and of course it cost 1/3 as much...

I bought the 27" from Best Buy about a month ago. I do not have it hooked to HDTV so the picture is average. I have a DVD player hooked to it with compenent cables and the picture is great. So I guess if you have HD cable service go for it, otherwise don't expect a crisp picture.
